The following people spoke on the <br />designation of property at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant: <br /> <br />Dick DeVore, Wood River, Nebraska leases line #3 at CAAP and stated he was representing John <br />Deer Corporation. They use line #3 during Husker Harvest days and they would be interested in <br />purchasing that line. Me. De V ore also farms some of the acres at CAAP. <br />Mike O'Neill sated he would be interested in the bomb lines and would be able to assist in the <br />clean up of the area to make it beneficial to the community. <br /> <br />Dick Bellows lives on 90th Road and expressed his concern on the paunch recycling that has been <br />proposed at CAAP <br /> <br />Pat and Bob Hancock - Pat stated that they are one ofthe original owners of the land at CAAP <br />and would like to have an opportunity to the land if it was designated back to the original owners. <br />Mr. Jeffries informed her that the current tracts are not the same as the original tracts that were <br />purchased. Arnold clarified that designation still means that it is sold at fair market value. Mr. <br />Noel addressed the problems of the contaminated areas. <br /> <br />Ron Vlach, owner of Nitro Construction recycles asphalt and concrete. He expressed interest in <br />property and expressed concern on the paunch issue. He stated it should be sold at fair market <br />value. <br /> <br />Tom Atkins, 4243 South North Road would like to see the property returned to the original <br />owners or sold at a public auction so they would have the opportunity to purchase it. <br /> <br />George Leiser - Mr. Leiser was one of the original owners and he stated he would like to see it <br />auctioned off but the Army is responsible for the contamination and it should be cleaned up. He <br />also expressed concerns on the paunch recycling. Mr. Noel addressed the contamination issues <br />and that the property will have to be sold to qualified buyers. <br /> <br />Code Miller, 1710 Spring Road suggested that the property should be properly marketed and it <br />may bring in better solutions to who can purchase the land. <br /> <br />Attorney Bill Francis representing Ted Robb stated Mr. Robb would be interested in all five lines <br />and would like to develop a Christmas tree farm and develop and game reserve. <br /> <br />12:00 p.m. Landis made a motion and Stelk seconded to recess until 1 :00 p.m. Hartman, Jeffries, <br />Lancaster and Landis voted yes, Arnold abstained and Stelk voted no with Logan absent. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />1: 15 p.m. returned to session <br /> <br />Stelk requested Steve Fusselman with the library introduce David Smith who has been hired as a <br />consultant for the library. Mr. Smith will look at the building space needs and options for the <br />future of the library. <br />
