<br />~ 19990154 <br /> <br />department heads would be interested in a customer relations <br />seminar and the results of a survey of 20 departments 18 stated <br />they would be interested. Logan will contact the city to see if <br />they would also like to participate and return with proposed <br />costs and dates. He questioned if the long range planning would <br />be interested in hiring a consultant to study the long tern <br />facility needs of the county. <br /> <br />Jeffries - He attended the personnel committee meeting, building <br />and grounds committee meeting and the reuse committee meeting. <br />He questioned if the board members would like to contact the <br />legislature on the inheritance tax issue. The board stated they <br />would do this on their own. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Lancaster wanted to know if the county board <br />wants to set up a committee to address the nude dancing issue and <br />if a resolution could be passed similar to the city ordinance. <br />This will be on the agenda in two weeks. <br /> <br />Hartman - He reported that the roof on the Southern Public Power <br />building will need to be replaced, the windows are in bad <br />condition and some of the electrical units will need to be <br />replaced. <br /> <br />COUNTY BOARD ASSISTANT REPORT: She reported that the audit <br />committee meeting will be at 10:00 on April 28. She requested <br />the chair, vice-chair and Pam Lancaster set a date to review the <br />personnel evaluations. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: Hartman reported that the insurance committee <br />met and recommended that the county insure the statue in front of <br />the court house for $1,000.00 and that a claim for $35,000.00 be <br />sent to Mid America to cover the costs of claims and that an <br />additional $15,000.00 be sent for the following two months to <br />maintain a balance to cover future claims. <br /> <br />COMMENCE AUDIT OF MONTHLY CLAIMS AND ACTION ON CLAIM AUDIT: The <br />board members reviewed The claims and Hartman made a motion and <br />Lancaster seconded to approve the claims as audited. Arnold, <br />Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis and Logan all voted yes and <br />none voted no with Stelk absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />';. <br /> <br /> <br />at 2:07 p.m. The next meeting will be May 11, <br /> <br /> <br />county board meetings may ve viewed on GITV Cable <br />UHF channel 56 Wednesday at 7:00 pm and Friday 8:00 <br />
