<br />F i 99901;J'I <br /> <br />HALL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING APRIL 13, 1999 <br /> <br />The Hall County Board of Supervisors met from adjourned session <br />and by published call in the county board meeting room, 121 South <br />Pine, Grand Island, Nebraska April 13, 1999, at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bud Jeffries. <br /> <br />Chairman Jeffries requested that a moment of silence be observed <br />for Andy Baird. <br /> <br />Present on roll call were Scott Arnold, Richard Hartman, Bud <br />Jeffries, Pamela Lancaster, Margaret Landis, Lonnie Logan and <br />Tammie Stelk. Also present were Deputy County Attorney Jerry <br />Janulewicz and news media representatives from the Grand Island <br />Independen t and KRG I . <br /> <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY - EXECUTIVE SESSION DISCUSSON ON NEGOTIATION <br />STRATEGY FOR RIGHT OF WAY AND CONSERVATION EASEMENTS FOR SOUTH <br />LOCUST STREET PROJECT: Stelk made a motion and Lancaster seconded <br />to go into exeuctive session. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, <br />Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted <br />no. Motion carried. Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz <br />requested that Richard Hartman not be present during the <br />executive session beacause of a conflict of interest and that the <br />two attornies from Freedom Management be allowed to stay during <br />the executive session. The negotiators need guidance from the <br />County Board on how to proceed with the negotaitions. <br /> <br />9:05 a.m. executive session <br /> <br />10:00 a.m. recessed executive session to hold the bid opening. <br /> <br />Stelk made a motion and Arnold seconded to open the bids for the <br />shingle project. Arnold, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis and Stelk <br />all voted yes and none voted no with Hartman and Logan absent for <br />the voted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following bids were opened: <br />BIDDER TOTAL AMOUNT COMPLETION DATE BID BOND <br />HUSKER SALES & DIST $58,856.00 90 DAYS CASHIER CHECK <br />DAN KNUZE CONST. $23,355.00 45 DAYS CASHIER CHECK <br />LEAMON CONST. $23,000.00 90 DAYS CASHIER CHECK <br />PETERSON LUMBER CO. $25,450.00 45 DAYS CASHIER CHECK <br /> <br />Logan made a motion and Stelk seconded to refer the bids to the <br />building and grounds committee to review. Hartman stated he <br />thought the bids were to high and maybe they should be <br />reconsidered. Arnold stated that the bids were all local <br />
