<br />~19990092 <br /> <br />Lancaster stated that a letter was received from the <br />Transportation Providers/Steering Committee requesting a letter <br />of intent to evaluate the public transportation services in Hall <br />County. Stelk made a motion and Lancaster seconded to send a <br />letter of intent. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, <br />Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: City Clerk Cindy Johnson stated that Mayor <br />Gnadt and the City Council would like to invite the County Board <br />members to a retreat Saturday, March 13 at 8:00 a.m. at the <br />school administration building. They will be discussing public <br />safety and looking at long range goals. The Mayor would like to <br />have two County Board members and two City council members also <br />tour the Kearney police Department to view how they have set up <br />their departments. <br /> <br />DISCUSS SPECIFICATIONS ON SAFETY CENTER REMODELING: Sheriff Jerry <br />Watson was asked if he was proposing to combine the sheriff and <br />city police department and he stated they are separate groups but <br />overlap in law enforcement. Watson stated he has discussed the <br />remodeling costs of the safety center with Chief Hetrick and <br />Charlie Cuypers and they will send a letter of commitment to <br />share 50% of the remodeling costs. Marvin Webb has the plans <br />completed with a completion cost of $13,820.00 to $14,420.00. <br />Deputy County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz stated that because this <br />was a small project it may be possible to hire a general <br />contractor unless the county served as its own general <br />contractor. The bid specifications will be completed and return <br />to the board on March 23 for approval and set the bid opening <br />date at that time. <br /> <br />Stelk made a motion and Hartman seconded by consent agenda to <br />approve the final plats for Terry Subdivision, Losee Subdivision, <br />H.H.K. Subdivision, E.O. Subdivision and M.G Subdivison and to <br />set the public hearing for amendments to the Subdivision <br />regulations for March 23, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. The accept and <br />place on file the Hall County Treasurer's Miscellaneous Receipts <br />and the office reports from the County Attorney, monthly report <br />from Regional Planning, County Court, Juvenile Diversion, <br />Sheriff, County Clerk and the fire safety inspection report and <br />communications. Arnold, Hartman, Jeffries, Lancaster, Landis, <br />Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no.
