<br />F19990048 <br /> <br />PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Ron Scherling the owner of "The Rock~ <br />formerly known as the Shamrock invited the Board of Supervisors <br />to the "Hamin it up hog roast" scheduled for February 20, March <br />20 and April 17. The president of the National Pork Producers <br />Association and the Department of Agriculture with the State of <br />Nebraska will be there. This is in appreciation to the farmers <br />in the area. Ms. Landis thanked Mr. Scherling on the way he has <br />cleaned up the area. <br /> <br />Louise Miller, supplied the board members with information from <br />the internet regarding the flag in the county board room and <br />stated it should be changed. <br /> <br />LETTERS OF CONGRATULATIONS FOR 4-H MEMBERS AND THE 1999 <br />PRUDENTIAL OUTSTANDING STUDENTS: Stelk stated she received <br />information from the extension office's board meeting regarding <br />the 4-H students and would like to have the board members sign <br />letters of congratulations regarding their accomplishments. <br />There are also two letters for the Prudential Outstanding <br />students that should also be signed. Stelk made a motion and <br />Hartman seconded to approve the letters and have the board <br />members sign them. Arnold, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and <br />Stelk all voted yes and none voted no with Jeffries absent. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION AND ACTION ON MID-PLAINS AD-HACK COMMITTEE AND <br />CHILDREN'S VILLAGE: This committee had discussed disposing of old <br />items of inventory from Children's Village that was left there <br />several years ago and they would like to have the concrete toys <br />in the play area. The toys in the play area could be moved to <br />the Hall County Park. Lancaster made a motion and Stelk seconded <br />to allow Mid-Plains to dispose of the old inventory and contract <br />the Park's Department to see if they would like the concrete <br />toys. Arnold, Hartman, Lancaster, Landis, Logan and Stelk all <br />voted yes and none voted no with Jeffries absent. Motion <br />carried. Lancaster also requested that two new members be <br />appointed to this committee because they will also need to <br />address bringing the building up to the safety codes in order to <br />proceed with the emergency shelter plans. <br /> <br />10:00 A.M. PUBLIC HEARING FOR COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT <br />FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT: Hartman made a motion and Stelk <br />seconded to open the public hearing. Arnold, Hartman, Lancaster, <br />Landis, Logan and Stelk all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Philip Hawtin with Communications Systems Development, 1755 West <br />Hammer Lane, Stockton, California, is requesting a conditional <br />use permit for a 250 foot communications tower. His company is <br />placing these towers along 1-80 to enable his company to <br />
