COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION ME�TING APRIL 10, 2012 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Arnold made a motion and Quandt seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CAI�L VOTE — Present an roll call vote were Scatt Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, Bob <br /> McFarland, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Also present was <br /> Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf, County Assessor Jan Pelland and Board Assistant <br /> Stacey Ruzicka. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW-- Chairman Lancaster read the natice of the open meeting <br /> law. <br /> MINUT�S — Purdy made a motion and McFarland seconded to approve the minutes of the <br /> March 27, 2012 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEY - �XECUTIVE SESSION R�GARDING NEW HOLLAND LITIGATION- <br /> Quandt made a motion and Schuppan seconded to go into executive session regarding the New <br /> Holland litigation. This executive session is to protect the public interest. Arnold, Lancaster, <br /> McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted na. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 9:10 a.m. executive session <br /> 9:26 a.m. Arnold made a motion and Schuppan seconded to go out of executive session. <br /> Arnald, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all vot�d yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> COUNTY ASSESSOR—APPROVE NEW �XEMPTION APPLICATION FOR <br /> MASONIC TEMPL�CRAFT ASSN OF GRAND ISLAND FOR REAL ESTATE <br /> County Assessar Jan Pelland stated that this is a new application. Their building was sold and <br /> they purchased space at 417 West Third Street. This property is used for charitable purposes. <br /> It is a meeting place for Ashlar Lodge No. 53 AF&AM, for the Andrew chapter No. 41 Order of <br /> Eastern Star and for the Central Nebraska Shrin� Club. She recommended approval under <br /> Nebraska State Statute 77-202. <br /> NE ASSN OF RE50URCES DISTRICT FOUNDATION INC. --This is also a new application the <br /> resource district has purchased a building on the Husker Harvest Day site. It is a m�tal building <br /> at 1106 East Avenue. The building will be used for education and promotion of protecting <br /> Nebraska's natural resources. Ms Pelland recommended approval under Nebraska State <br /> Statute 77-202. <br /> Arnold made a motion and Ziola secanded to approve the exemption applications for Masonic <br /> Templecraft and Nebraska Assn of Resources District Foundation. Mr. McFarland noted that <br /> one applicatian was not signed but the original copy was signed. Mr. Purdy stated that he <br /> would abstain fram voting because of a possible conflict of interest. <br /> Schuppan questioned if the Natural Resources District would meet the criteria of educational <br /> purposes. Pelland stated that if the county approves this will still be reviewed by the state. He <br /> also expressed cancern on the number of exemption applications that the county has.
