It has taken years to get this accomplished. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and McFarland seconded to allow the Caunty Attorney to make an <br /> agr�ement for the propased settlement with John Ellis. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, <br /> Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 8. DISCUSSION � POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING WORKING HOURS ON MONDAY, <br /> DECEMBER 24, 2012 — Mr. Quandt stated that he requested this be put on the agenda. There <br /> was a request to close for Christmas Eve far the 3'h hours that the buildings are open because <br /> they will be closed on Tuesday. Discussion was held and this is in the handbook and no action <br /> was taken. <br /> 10. APPROVE BI WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS AND REGULAR CLAIMS <br /> County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf stated that he was shocked when he picked up the paper and <br /> attorn�y's fees on a case and a bill from Attorney Mr. Mock, an attorney may cause some <br /> discussion from the board. He also received a call from County Attorney Mark Young and he <br /> wanted ta point out that he tried to do everything to settle the case without a trial and second <br /> there are parts of the proceedings that are sealed and not available. He sugg�sted that any <br /> discussian regarding the fees should be held after those praceedings are opened. <br /> Lancaster thanked Mr. Zitterkapf for the comments. The costs were astounding and she noted <br /> that the caunty attorney's office does everything they can do on these cases. Most certainly we <br /> want the bad guys off the streets but there is a cost to do this. <br /> Mr. Zitterkapf stated that Mr. Mock earned th� fees that he rec�ived. <br /> Arnold stated that everyone has a constitutional right to a fair trial and if it were you it would be a <br /> comfort to know that you have the right to a trial and you cannot def�;nd yaurself, As officials <br /> our oath of office is to support the constitution. <br /> Quandt questioned if the records are seal if they are permanently sealed. Mr. Zitterkopf stated <br /> that parts af the records are sealed and he cannot promise when they will be opened. <br /> Quandt stated that it is the job of the supervisors to look at the claims and all there is a dollar <br /> amount. The fe�s were for a court appointed counsel and the caurt reviews the claims ta make <br /> sure that it has the correct time and this has been reviewed and approved. It has to be paid. <br /> Ziola made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve all of the payroll claims and th� regular <br /> claims except for the Office Net Claim. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carri�d. <br /> Mr. Quandt questioned if there wer�Weed Board Claims. <br /> Ziola made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve the claim from Office Net. Mr. McFarland <br /> will abstain from voting on this claim because he has a business relationship with Office Net. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted y�s and none voted no. <br /> 4 <br />
