HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING MARCH 1, 2011 <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into a Board of Equalizatian <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Bud Jeffries, Pamela <br /> Lancaster, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Also present <br /> was County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf and Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN M�ETING LAW —Chairman Jeffries read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> MINUTES—Quandt made a motion and Schuppan seconded to place on file the minutes <br /> of the February 15, 2011 meeting. Arnold, Jeffries, Purdy, Lancastcr, Quandt, <br /> Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> COUNTY TREASURER— 1. APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR <br /> GOODWILL INDUSTRIES FOR 3 TRAILERS AND A 2003 BUICK <br /> 2. APPROV� EXEMPTION APPL.ICATON FOR IGL�SIA DE DIOS �BENEZER FOR A <br /> 2008 HONDA Deputy County Treasurer Jane Allan presented the following exemptian <br /> applications: <br /> Goadwill Industries 1804 South �ddy Grand Island for 3 1998 Stoughton trailers to be <br /> used for hauling and collecting of donations that support their programs and a 2003 <br /> Buick Lesabre to be used for picking up and taking home clients and to support client <br /> activities and training. <br /> Igl�sia de Dios Ebenezer, 2228 North Broadwell, Grand Island for a 2008 Honda to be <br /> used for trips for leader training, home visitations. <br /> She recommended approval af the exemption applications as per Nebraska State <br /> Statute 77-202. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Ziola seconded to approve the exemption applications for <br /> Goodwill Industries and Iglesia de Dios Ebenezer. Jeffries called for discussion and he <br /> ask if they had been paying taxes on the car and they have in the past but it is due for <br /> renewal in March and they ar� requesting the exemption. Arnold, Jeffries, Lancaster, <br /> Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all vated yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEY - 1. EX�CUTIVE S�SSION FOR TH� PROTECTI�N OF THE <br /> PUBLIC INTEREST, TO-WIT: STRATEGY SESSION WITH RESPECT TO LITIGATION <br /> THREATENED AGAINST THE HALL COUNTY BOARD O� EQUALIZATION BY THE <br /> PROPERTY ASSESSM�NT DIVISION OF THE NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF <br /> REVENUE <br /> 9:08 a.m. Lancaster made a motion and Purdy seconded to go into executive session to <br /> discuss the pending litigation. This executive session is to protect the public interest. <br /> Quandt questioned Mr. Zitterkopf if an executive session is necessary and he stated that <br /> the board will be discussing strategy and he recommend�d an executive session. <br /> ] <br />
