9. 10:35 AM — PUBLIC HEARING -� FINAL TAX REQUEST FOR COUNTY BUDGET RATES — Quandt made a motian and Arnold seconded to open the public hearing on the final tax request for the county budget rates. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one responded. Quandt made a motion and McFarland seconded to close the public hearing. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. DISCUSS AND APPROVE RESOLUTION SETTING PROF'ERTY TAX REQUEST FOR HALL COUNTY—County Clerk Marla Conley read Resolution #12-062 setting the property tax request for Hall County. Quandt made a motion and Ziola secanded to approve Resolution #12- 062 Setting the Property Tax Request. Chairman Lancaster called for discussion and Quandt questioned what the tax rate would b� on a $100,000.00 home. Stacey Ruzicka stated that last year it was $496.44 and this year it will be $493.61 an a $100,000.00 home. Mr. Quandt noted that it was lower. The vote on the motion ta approve the resolution was taken. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. RESOLUTION #12- 062 A RESOLUTION SETTING THE PROPERTY TAX REQUEST FOR HALL COUNTY WHEREAS, Nebraska Revised Statute 77-1601.02 provides that the property tax request for the prior year shall be the property tax request for the current year for purposes af the levy set by the County Board of Equalization unless the Governing Bady of the Hall County Board of Supervisors passes by a majority vote a resolution or ordinance setting the tax request at a different amount; and WHEREAS, a special public hearing was held as required by law to hear and consider comments concerning the property tax request; and WHER�AS, it is in the best interests of the Hall County Board of Supervisors that the property tax request for the current year be a different amount than the property tax request for the prior year. NOW, THEREFOR�, the Governing Body of the Hall County Board of Supervisors, by a majority vate, resolves that: 1. The 2012-2013 praperty tax request be set at: $ 14,977,197.52 General Fund $ 51,123.37 Dependent Fund $ 2,p$7.19 Institutions Fund $ 6,959.33 Veteran's Aid Fund $ 1,568,750.00 Jail Bond Fund $ 858,766.87 Museum Fund $ 17,464,884.28 Tatal of Request 6
