There are alsa other counties that are <br /> considering this issue. The public would still contact the weed superintendent. The � <br /> caunty board would be responsible. <br /> Mr. Sidders questioned if the county board members knew what the noxious weeds looked <br /> like. When the board members live out in the rural area they are mare aware of what it out <br /> there. <br /> Keith Brown stated he lives in Central City but owns property in Hall County. He sent a <br /> letter to the board members expressing his concerns. He noted some of the information in <br /> the letter that he sent. He ask the County Board to reconsider their decision. <br /> Mr. Arnald thanked Mr. Brown for the information. <br /> Lancaster stated that the budget issues will be discussed and the oversight will change but <br /> she is struggling with the extra level of government and if it is necessary. She appreciated <br /> the information. <br /> Lancaster called for public participation. <br /> Randy Martin stated that he is a Hall County resident and understands the business of <br /> spraying the farmers spray the crops but they do not spray the ditches. He expressed <br /> conc�rn that if the spraying is turned over to the private business would they charge more <br /> and use less product to do the jab. The weed department is not concerned about <br /> competition they just do the jab. <br /> Lancaster called for public participation. <br /> Bob Schwarzkopf stated that he lives in Burwell and is a weed specialist for the State Board <br /> of Land and Funds. He stated that as he travels across the state he can tell what counties <br /> have an active we�d board and department. An active weed board takes a greater interest <br /> in managing the weeds. He stated that Hall County has been a model ta the rest di the <br /> stat� in management and they have also acquired grants to take care of the river system He <br /> expressed conc�rn that the county will lose that servic�. <br /> Lancaster stated that the board has taken camments for 64 minutes. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Purdy seconded to close the public hearing. Arnold, Lancaster, <br /> McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none vot�d no. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 4 <br />
