HALL COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT ANNUAL AWARDS H II County Sheriff <br /> Jerry Watsan stated that he appreciated th� time to make these acknoWledgments to his <br /> department He acknowledged the following employees: I <br /> • Heath Johnson 10 years <br /> • Frank Bergmark and Clark Fincey 15 years <br /> • John Hinkle 20 years <br /> • Rick Conrad for outstanding service as drug investigator <br /> • Troy Stover he is consistent accurate and does quality work <br /> • Tracy Atwood is the evidence technician and has a wealth af knowledge <br /> • Jason Smith as deputy of the year <br /> • Jenny White as support staff member of the year <br /> • Quinn Webb as Supervisor of the year <br /> Lancaster congratulated the staff and thanked them for their leadership. <br /> 9:25 a.m. Held a board of equalization meeting <br /> 9:40. a.m. Returned to the regular meeting <br /> 9:40 a.m. Held a Board of Correctians meeting. <br /> 9:51 a.m. adjaurned the Board of Corrections meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> Recessed the meeting until the public hearing <br /> 6. PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE DISCONTINUATION OF A SEPARATELY <br /> ELECTED HALL COUNTY WEED BOARD Quandt made a mation and Ziola seconded to <br /> open the public hearing. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and <br /> Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Lancaster stated that this hearing is about the elected weed board and this issue would go <br /> on the ballot ta eliminate the elected weed board. The county board would then take on the <br /> additional duties without any additional compensation. <br /> Lancaster called for public participation. <br /> Rob Schultz stated that he has been the weed superintendent for 15 years. H� reviewed <br /> the history of the department and read a statement. <br /> Lancaster called for public participation. <br /> Neal Sidders stated he lives in the western part of the county and has been a weed board <br /> member for 20 years and questioned what the board is trying to gain. He stated that the <br /> board members would be willing to serve withaut pay. <br /> Lancaster stated that they are loaking at more efficient government and noted that there are <br /> very few elected weed boards across the state. This will go to the vote of the people and it <br /> will be their decision. <br /> 2 <br />
