Arnold made a motion and Ziola secanded to instruct Doug Drudik to proceed with the project <br /> for the hearing system in the board room. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted na. Motion carried. <br /> Arnold was excus�d from the meeting to go to his place of employm�nt. <br /> 8. HEALTH INSURANCE R�NEWAL - DISCUSS AND APPROV� AMENDMENT <br /> REGARDING REVISING OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD —This will set up an annual open <br /> enrallment period for the plan. He recommends 15 or 30 days prior to the renewal. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Ziola seconded to approve the amendment far the open <br /> enrollment. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion carried <br /> Discussion was held and the open enrolment period will be the month of June prior to the , <br /> renewal. I <br /> , <br /> DISCUSS AND APROVE AMENDMENT REGARDING RAISING ANNUAL PLAN MAXIMUM <br /> PER HEALTHCARE LAW—This is the f�deral law requiring the annual plan maximum it will <br /> increase this year to $1,250,000.00 and increase to $2,000,000.00 next year. <br /> Ziola made a motion and Purdy seconded to approve the amendment increasing the plan <br /> maximum. . Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, 5chuppan and Ziola all voted yes and nane <br /> voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion carried <br /> DISCUSS AND APPROVE HEALTH INSURANCE RENEWAL- Mr. Johnson stated that the <br /> insurance committee has met and the wellness program has been started. He went to 11 <br /> carriers and 4 declined and 5 were higher and he has 2 proposals. There are usually more <br /> markets but th�re were some mergers. He recommended to accept th� renewal bid from <br /> Gerber Life and to leave the premium the same there are ample funds in the claims and money <br /> market accounts. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Ziala seconded to accept the bid for the health insurance renewal <br /> with Gerber Life with the appropriate laser. <br /> Mr. Johnson explained that the laser is a tool to underwrite the risks on certain claims the <br /> additional risk can be put in the pr�mium or take it out af the premium and caver the additianal <br /> claims mast often all of those dollars won't be used. This is one of the benefits of being self <br /> insured. <br /> The vote on the motion was taken. Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola <br /> all voted yes and nane voted no. Arnold was absent. Motion carried <br /> 13. AUDIT COMMITTEE — DISCUSSION AND ACTI�N REGARDING DOWNSIZING OF <br /> WEED DEPARTMENT— Keith Brown sent a letter ta the county board expressing concerns an <br /> downsizing the weed department and stated that he would address the issues at the public <br /> hearing. <br /> Quandt expressed concern that the county is competing with the private sector regarding the <br /> spraying. <br /> 5 <br />
