2 IA COUNTY CLERK CALLS FOR NOMINATIONS OF 2012 COUNTY BOARD CHAIRMAN County Clerk Marla Conley called for nominations for the 2012 County Board Chair. Quandt made a motion and Purdy seconded to elect Pamela Lancaster as the 2012 Hall County Board chairman. Amold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried C. COUNTY CLERK CALLS FOR NOMINATIONS OF 2012 COUNTY BOARD VICE CHAIR County Clerk Marla Conley called for nominations for the 2012 Hall County Board Vice Chairman. Quandt made a motion and Ziola seconded to elect Dan Purdy as the Hall County Board 2012 Vice Chairman. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried Arnold noted that the seating arrangement and the voting tab will be changed for the next meeting. 9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting. 9:15 a.m. Returned to the regular meeting PUBLIC PARTICIPATION — Loran Humphrey stated that they have been working on the life trail at the Hall County Park and received a donation from JB Swift and Company. John and Justin with JB Swift Company presented Hall County with a check for $4,500.00 for the life trail. They stated that they have had a leadership change and are taking a new direction to focus on the community image. Lancaster stated that she appreciates the change and the gift to Hall County. Arnold also noted he appreciates the changes and the gift to Hall County. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION — Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one responded. 1E PLAQUE FOR CHAIRMAN - County Clerk Marla Conley requested that Chairman Lancaster bring in the previous year plaque and she will add an additional year plate to it. 7 RECEIVE AND PLACE ON FILE NOTICE OF RETIREMENT FROM HALL COUNTY TREASURER DORIS MASON -- Quandt made a motion and McFarland seconded to accept the notice of retirement from County Treasurer Doris Mason. Chairman Lancaster stated that the board accepts the notice of retirement with regret. She has been with Hall County for 50 years. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried Ms. Mason stated that her last day will be February 10`". Discussion was held. Mr. Zitterkopf stated that the official resignation is made by filing with the County Clerk and it was received January 29 For the purpose of filling the vacancy the board has 45 days from the time it was submitted to the County Clerk. There is not much guidance regarding the appointment process the board can advertise and hold a public hearing but the actual vote has to be done in a public meeting or a regular meeting of the county board.
