Quandt asked why the fence was torn down at the old jail. Mr. Ruiz stated that he was <br /> asked if there was a need for it and there is not so building and grounds took it down. <br /> Quandt questioned why the committee's are running the board and not the supervisors. <br /> Discussion was held if the committee and the director feel it was not an issue they made <br /> the decision. The committees work with the department heads to address issues and <br /> then they go forward. <br /> Jeffries stated that there are copies of the committee meeting minutes and they receive <br /> them so if there is an issue it can be discussed or brought to the board. <br /> Wagoner questioned the grand jury recommendations and Mr. Ruiz stated that these <br /> recommendations are published in the paper. He will get a copy of that information. <br /> Wagoner questioned if the residential settings are cells and if they are lock would <br /> jail standards have to address this. Mr. Ruiz stated that it could be sleeping <br /> quarters with joint eating areas. Jail Standards would have to be contacted. <br /> Mr. Ruiz stated that he wants a commitment from ICE and a separate agreement <br /> before they would proceed. <br /> Mr. Ruiz stated that during the winter storms only one person did not show up for <br /> work. If the roads were closed they stayed in town. He has a professional staff. <br /> They received notice that U Save is proposing to increase the rates for the <br /> pharmacy services so they are working on the RFP for the pharmacy services <br /> and will go out for bids. <br /> Mr. Ruiz stated that they are going a Spillman upgrade this week.
