HALL COUNTY BOARD OF CORRECTIONS MEETING JANUARY 5, 2010 <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Lancaster made a motion and Arnold seconded to go into a Board <br /> of Corrections meeting. Present on roll call were, Scott Arnold, Bud Jeffries, Pamela <br /> Lancaster, Daniel Purdy, Robert Rye, Gary Quandt and Daniel Wagoner. Also present <br /> was Fred Ruiz Corrections Director, County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf and Board <br /> Assistant Stacey Ruzicka. <br /> CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bud Jeffries. <br /> MINUTES — Lancaster made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve the minutes of <br /> the November 10, 2009 meeting. Arnold, Jeffries, Lancaster, Purdy, Quandt, Rye and <br /> Wagoner all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW - Chairman Jeffries read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION -- Chairman Jeffries called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> CORRECTIONS DIRECTORS REPORT -- Corrections Director Fred Ruiz was present <br /> and reviewed the revenue that has been collected. From July 1, 2009 to December 31, <br /> 2009 they collected $1,322,499.94 in revenue $145,250.00 was the state reimbursement <br /> and they have billed another $90,000.00 they are waiting to send the bill in December. <br /> They may receive about $80,000.00. The ICE contract has generated $96,267.34 in <br /> revenue. <br /> He had mentioned to the steering committee the dollars that go through the facility and <br /> they need to take credit for what they receive. He asked if the board would like a packet <br /> so they can see the exact amount that is received. For instance for he fingerprinting <br /> process they charge $10.00 a print so there is revenue collected there. He stated that <br /> he will start providing copies of the revenue information. <br /> SCAT money that is the State Criminal Alien Assistance program for alien born inmates <br /> generated $105,682.00. But these funds will go down because they are getting paid by <br /> ICE. <br /> Arnold stated that he would like to see these revenue numbers. <br /> Mr. Ruiz stated that ICE sent them a questionnaire asking if they could provide a <br /> residential type housing setting. This would be for the non criminal people and families <br /> and children. Mr. Ruiz asked if the county would have an area for residential type <br /> housie for example the old Children's Village building or the old jail facility. He will <br /> continue discussion with ICE but they will not do anything unless there is a commitment <br /> from the County. He is not sure what they want and he will wait to hear from them. If <br /> this does happen he would like to have them provide dollars for the renovations. <br /> 1 <br /> II <br />
