Preliminary investigation shows that a 1997 GMC
pickup being operated by Samuel Woitaszewski, 00B:08-03-92 of Wood
River was traveling south on 11 Oth Road when it struck a 1979 Ford pickup
which was traveling west on Stolley Park Road. The Ford pickup was being
operated by Gerald Leitschuck, 00B:11-03-34 of Grand Island. Mr.
Leitschuck died at St. Francis Hospital as a result of the injuries received in
the accident. Mr. Woitaszewski and his passenger were treated and
released.

Both Woitaszewski and his 14 year old passenger were wearing
restraints. Mr. Leitschuck was not restrained and was alone in the vhicle. At
the preliminary investigation it does not appear that alcohol or speed were
contributing factors in the accident.
