Upon arrival it was found that a 1978 Chevrolet P30, modified short <br />school bus, being operated by Danny Boltz D08:11-01-54 of Grand Island <br />was southbound on Blaine. Mr. Boltz advised that he observed a male <br />subject standing beside his truck on the west side of the road and a dog <br />running on the east side of the road. While passing the truck Mr. Boltz <br />heard a noise and stopped his vehicle. He then found the male subject <br />laying on the roadway. <br /> <br />The male subject was identified as Richard G Decker DOB:7 -24-34 of <br />Grand Island. Mr. Decker was transported to St. Francis hospital where he <br />passed away several hours later from his injuries. <br /> <br />Investigation conducted by the Sheriff Department Reconstructions <br />Investigator reveal that the bus was "traveling at less then 20 miles per hour <br />at the time of the accident and that Mr. Decker stumbled or fell into the side <br />of the bus. Mr. Boltz was wearing a seat belt at the iime of the accident. <br /> <br />CfUl <br />
