Falldorf-6rand Island Police Dept. <br /> <br />On May 5,2005 Officers from the &rand Island Police Dept. as well as the <br />Hall County Sheriff's Office conducted alcohol compliance checks of 6rand <br />Island alcohol retailers. <br />This was the second compliance check in the past two weeks. Nineteen <br />businesses were checked using an 18 year old youth to attempt to purchase. <br />There was one failure, the Casey's Store at 806 North Eddy Street, where <br />the clerk did not check the ID, and was given a citation. It should be noted <br />that when these compliance checks are done the youth attempting to purchase <br />alcohol use their own ID. <br />The failure rate of this check was 5% as compared to the previous one of 4%. <br /> <br />The checks are part of the think b4u wink project and were funded by the <br />Nebraska Office of Highway Safety <br />
