pickup, being driven by Megan Brodrick, age 26 from Grand Island. She was <br />the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Ms. Brodrick <br />required no medical attention. There were two other occupants in the vehicle <br />driven by Mr. Alamilla. <br /> <br />Mr. Ramirez was ejected from the Cadillac as it was rolling, and was <br />pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt. One <br />other passenger in the vehicle was identified as Jose Coronado, age 23, from <br />Grand Island NE. Seatbelt usage on Mr. Alamilla and Coronado was not known at <br />this time. Mr. Alamilla was transported to St. Francis with nonlife threatening <br />injuries. Mr. Coronado was not transported. <br /> <br />Alcohol is suspected as a possible contributing factor in this incident. <br />Mr. Alamilla was taken into custody and is being charged with <br />Driving Under the Influence, <br /> <br /> <br />Felony Motor Vehicle Homicide. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Other agencies responding to this accident included the Nebraska State Patrol, <br />the Grand Island Rural Fire Department and Grand Island Fire Department. <br />Highway 2/81 was closed for approximately 2 hours due to the accident. <br /> <br /> <br />Jerry Watson <br />Sheriff- Hall County <br /> <br /> <br /> Page 2 <br />
