<br /> An ordinance authorizing and directing the sale of certain real estate belonging to the City
<br /> of Grand Island, Nebragka; praviding the manner in which the same sha11 be sold and the terms
<br /> of said sa1e; providing for the giving of not�.ce of the gale of said real estate and the terma
<br /> thereof; and, providin� for �he right �o file a remonstrance against the sa.le thereof signed by
<br /> legal elector� of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, equal in number to thirty per cent (30�)
<br /> of t'he electors of said City, voting at the last regular municipal electlon held in said City.
<br /> WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of April, 19�$, the East one-half ( } of Lot Four, Vantines'
<br /> Subdivision of the Northwest Quarter(NW�) of Sec�ion Twenty-two 22) , Township Eleven (11) ,
<br /> North Range Nine (9) , West of the 6th P. M. , Hall County, Nebraaka, belonging to the said City
<br /> of Grand I�land, Nebraska, was, pursuant to the aetion of the Mayor and City Council, offered
<br /> Par sa..1.e at a public auction to the highest bidder and J. H. Nitzel of the City of Grand Island,
<br /> Nebraska, bid the swn of Fivs Hundred Fifty (�550.00) Do�lars therefore, said amoun'� being
<br /> �he highest bid offered.
<br /> THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CTTY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA:
<br /> SECTION l. The saZe of the real estate described as the East one-half (�) af Lot Four (�� ,
<br /> Vantines' Subdivision of the Northwes� Quarter (NW�) of Section Twenty-two (22) , Township Eleven
<br /> (11) , North Ra,nge Nine (9} , West of the bth P. M. , Hall County, Nebraska, to J. H. Nitzel of said
<br /> City of Grand Island, be and the same is hereby directed, authorized and confirmed.
<br /> SECTION 2. The manner and_ terms of said sale of such real estate are a� foll.ows: The sa1.d
<br /> J. H. Ni�zel, the bidder, has agreed to pay the sum of Five Hundred Fifty-(�550.00) Dollars f or
<br /> the within described real estate and has paid the sum of Thirty (�30•00) Do17.ars as a down
<br /> � payrnent thereon and the balance of Five Hundred Twenty {�520.00) Dollars wi11 be paid upon
<br /> delivery of a Quit Claim Deed by the City to said nurchaser. The City. of Grand Island shall not
<br /> be required .to furnish an Abstract of Tit1e.
<br /> SECTION 3. As provided by l.aw, no�ice vf such sale and the terms thereof sha11 be
<br /> published for three consecu�ive weeks in the Grand Island Da,i1y Tndependen�, a newspaper
<br /> published in and of general circulation in the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, immediately after
<br /> the passage and publica�ion of this ordinance; and the City Clerk is hereby directed and
<br /> instructed to prepare and publish said notice.
<br /> SECZ'ION 4. Authority is hereby granted to �he electors of the City of Grand Island,
<br />� N�braska, to file a remonstrance against the sale of the within described real estate; and if a
<br /> remon�trance against the sale aigned by legal e3ectors of said City equal in number to thirty
<br /> per cent (30�) of the e3ectors of �he City of Grand Island, voting at the l�st regular election
<br /> held in said City be f iled with the Mayor and City Council within �hirty days after the passage
<br /> and publication of this ordinance, such property sha11 not then, nor within one year thereaf ter
<br /> b� sold,
<br /> . SECTI�N 5. The sale of sai.d real estate is hereby direeted, authorized and conf irmed; and
<br /> iF no remonstrance be f iled against such sale, the Mayor and City Clerk shall make, execute, and
<br /> deliver to J. H. Nitzel, a Quit Claim Deed for sa3.d property and the execution of said deed is
<br /> hereby authori2ed without further action on behalf of the City Council.
<br /> SECTION 6. This ordinance sha11 be 3.n force and take effec� from and after its passage,
<br /> approval. and publication as provided by 1aw.
