<br /> An ordinanee authorizing and directing the sale of certain real esta'te belonging to the Clty
<br /> oP 4rand Island, Nebraeka; providing for the giving of notice of the sale of said real estate an d
<br /> the terms thereof; and providing for the right to file a remonstranee against the sale thereof
<br /> signed b y legal electors of the City of arand Island, Nebraska, equal in number to thirty per cent
<br /> (30�) af the eleetors of said City, voting at the last regul�.r municipal election held ln said City.
<br /> WHEREAS, on �he 2nd day of April, 194�, Lot Nine (q) , Block Ten (10) , Ashton Place Addition,
<br /> belonging to the said City of Grand Island, Nebraska, was, pursuant ta the action of the Mayo� and
<br /> City Couneil, offered for sale at a public auction to the highest bidder and Lars Nelson of the
<br /> City oP arand Island, Nebraska, bid the sum oP Seven Hundred Tti,renty-five (�725.00) Dollaxa there-
<br /> fore, said amount being the highest bid oPfered. �
<br /> THFREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEHRASKA:
<br /> SECTION 1. The sale of the real estate described as Lot Nine (9), Block Ten (10) , Ashton
<br /> Plaee an Addition to the C3ty oP Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska, to Lars Nelson oP said City
<br /> of (�rand Island, be and the same 3s hereby direeted, au�horized and conflrmed.
<br /> SECTION 2. The manner and terms oP said sale of such real eatate are as followa: The said
<br /> Lars Nelson, the bidder, has agreed to pay the sum of Seven Hundred Twenty_five (�72 .00) Dollars
<br /> for the within described real estate and has paid the sum of One Hundred Forty-Pive ��145.00}
<br /> dollare as a down payment thereon and the balance of Five Hundred Eighty (�5�0.00) Dollars will be
<br /> paid upon d�livery of a Quit Claim Deed by the City to said purchaser. The City oP arand Island
<br /> shall not be required to furnish an Abstraet oP Title.
<br /> 3ECTION 3. As provided by 1aw, notice of such sale and �he terms thereof ahall be published
<br /> for three consecutive weeks in the Grand Island Dai1y Independent, a newspaper publiahed in and of
<br /> �eneral circulation in the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, immediately after the passage and pub-
<br /> lica'�ion of this ordinanee; and the City C1erk is hereby directed and instructed to prepare and
<br /> publiah said notice.
<br /> SECTION 4. Authorlty is hereby granted to the electors of �he City of (�rand Island, Nebraska,
<br /> to file a remonatrance against the eale of' the w3.thin described real estate; and if a remonstranee
<br /> againat the sal.e signed by le�al electors of sai.d City equal in number to thirty per cent t30,�) of
<br /> the electors of the City of Grand Island, voting at the 7.ast regular election held in said City be
<br /> filed with the Mayor and City Council with3.n '�hirty days a.fter the passage and publication of this
<br /> ordinance, much property shall not then, nor t�.thin one year thereafter be sold. �
<br /> SECTION 5. The sale of sald real estate is hereby directed, authorized and confirmed; and if
<br /> no remonstrance be filed again$t such sale, the Mayor and City C1erk sha11 make, execute, and de-
<br /> liver to La�s Nelson, a Quit Cla�.m Deed for said property and the execution of said deed is her�by
<br /> authorized without further action on behalP of the City Council.
<br /> SECTION 6. This ordinance ahall be in force and '�ake effect from and after its passage, ap-
<br /> proval and publication as provided by law.
