<br /> SSLL HOWARD SCHOOI� PROPI�tTY TO CITY:
<br /> The Secretary reported that on Saturday, Jarnxar3• 2nd, three members of the
<br /> City Ca�acil called at the Board room to diacuss the purchase of the Howa.rd
<br /> SChool Property. The Secretary also reported that the members of the Council
<br /> met in speci,al seasion and v+oted to offer the School Diatrict �25,000.00 for �
<br /> the;Hoxard School Property. They also offered ca�plete cooperatian trith the
<br /> Sehool'Diatrict in the matter oY opening Custer Street from the Senior High
<br /> School to the High�r p�rp�s �d the closing of such atreets and alleys as
<br /> cauld legally be cloaed for achool purpoaea.
<br /> Motion was made by Dr. Johnson and seconded by Mr� Falmten that the offer oP
<br /> the City Council of �25,000.00 for the HoMard School Property be accepted
<br /> and that the Council be requeated to cloae atreets and alleys in West Park
<br /> Additian in that area now owned by the School District; that.the Cauncil be -
<br /> r°q�88ted to take ia�ediate ateps to open (�ister Street, and that ar�r future
<br /> requesta Por �los,ing of �treeta and alle�ys be favorably cc�nsidered. That
<br /> upon receipt of .the ,pnrcha�e price, the Secretary deliver to the City of
<br /> Grsnd Isla.nd a qnit c].ai�a deed to Block 2p� prig�nal Town, now City of
<br /> Grand Island.
