C~ 1 1 C7 (b) The work shah be completed within Thirty [30} ~~ working days after the date of the Contract, wit an extension of time for completion equal to any tame last due to causes which could not have been foreseen or which were beyond the control of the Contractor and which were not the result of his fault or negligence. Extension cf "Time for Completion" shall also be allowed far any delays in the progress of the work caused by an act of neglect of the (A,mer or of his Employees ar by other Gontractars employed by the. Owner, or delay due to an Act of Government, or by delay in the furnishing of glans and necessary information by the Engineer, or by any other cause which in the opinion of the Engineer entities the Contractor to an extension of time.- Strikes------ and other labor disputes shall be cause for an extension of Lfine far completion. (c) The Contractor shall notify the Engineer within Five f53 days of any occurrence which in the Contractor's opinion entitles him to an extension of time for completion. Such notice shall be in writing and shall be submitted in ample time to permit full investigation and evaluation csf the Contractor's claim. The Engineer shall acknowledge receipt of the Contractor's • aatice within Five (~ days of its receipt. (d) Failure to complete the work within the number of working days stated in this article including extension granted hereto, shall entitle the Owner to deduct from the moneys due to the Contractor as "Liquidated Damages" an amount equal to 5100.00 for each working day of delay in the completion of work. ARTICLE 12I - THE CO^ITIiACT SU*~ (a) The Owner shall pay to the Contractor for the performance of the contract, the amounts determined for the tctal number of each of the following units of work completed at the unit price stated thereafter. ARTICLE iv PROGRESS PAiA3E;vTS The Owner sha21 make payments on account of the contracts as follows: (a) On not later than the 15th day of every month, the Engineer shall prepare an estimate covering the total quanti*_ies under each item of work that has been completed from the start of the jab up to and including the last day of the preceding month; and the value of the work so completed determined in accordance with the schedule of unit prices for such items. (b) The Owner shall, after deducting previous payments made, pay to the Contractor 9S~ of the amount of the estimate. The S$ retained percentage may be held by the Owner until the value of t're work completed equals the value of the original contract. This amount :gay be held until the final completion of ail of the work under the contract. (c) Final payment of all r.;aneys due on the contract shall be made within 30 days of eamgietian and acceptance a; the war F.. (d) Payment will be made by the issuance of warrants. The district has arranged for warrants to be placed at gar and the Contractor agrees to endorse the warrant to the purchaser far cash.
