~y <br />2oo9os9o7 <br />Exhibit "C" <br />Notifications of Munitions and Explosives of Concern <br />(~C) <br />Date o~ t~C <br />Site Type of MEC Activity Munitions Response Actions <br />Load Line 4 Munitions 1942-45 The load line buildings were used for <br />219.985 Constituents 1950-57 the production of military munitions and <br />acres (~yC) 1965-73 were determined to have MC (residual <br />explosives) present in high enough <br />concentrations to present an explosives <br />hazard. In 2005 through 2006, a <br />geophysical survey and anomaly <br />investigation were conducted, along with <br />disassembly, demolition, and <br />decontamination of buildings. All work <br />was conducted in accordance with a <br />DDESB-approved ESS. <br />Soil under the former building sites was <br />sampled for explosives. Soil containing <br />greater than l0~ by weight explosives <br />was remediated. <br />*Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC). This term, which <br />distinguishes specific categories of military munitions that may pose <br />unique explosives safety risks, means: (A) Unexploded Ordnance <br />(UXO), as defined in 10 §101(e)(5); (B) Discarded military munitions <br />(DMM), as defined in 10 U.S.C. ~2710(e)(2); or (C) Munitions <br />constituents (e.g., TNT, RDX), as defined in 10 U.S.C. §2710(e)(3), <br />present in high enough concentrations to pose an explosive hazard. <br />2 Encls <br />1.
