85- 00471.17 3. To manage vegetation and other wildlife habitat in the Platte River, such manage- ment practices to include plowing, discing, burning, cutting, use of chemical herbi- cides, dredging, damming, diversion of water, and such other management prac- tices as Grantee deems necessary or ad- visable for the preservation, maintenance and enhancement of the Platte River and the islands and sandbars therein as habi- tat for Whoopinq Cranes, Sandhill Cranes and other migratory birds. All responsi- bility for the costs and expenses of carry - ing out the aforesaid management activities and obtaining the necessary local, state • and federal permits therefor shall be borne by the Grantee. Grantee's use will not interfere with Grantor's use of the pre- mises. B. There shall be no extraction of sand or gravel from the entire above described property after the effective date of this Agreement. Drilling operations for oil and gas may be conducted upon the property during the months of June, July, August and September of each year; however, such drilling shall be limited to two 2 -acre sites, at any one time, each located at least- 500 feet from the south bank of the south channel of the Platte River and oil and gas may be extracts., therefrom. Access to any site shall occupy as small an area as may be reasonably possible and for drilling, pumping and storage operations only. oil and gas extracted from the property may be stored in facilities within 200 feet of the south boundary of the entire property as above described. The property snail be restored to its previous con- dition by the Grantor within one year after dri.11inq or pumping is completed, and prior to the drilling on any ether site or sites. The foregoing l.imi.tation shall not prohibit offset dril:.- ing conducted from properties not included in this casement which -A- 11
