86- ORDINANCE NO. 283 CITY OF WOOD RIVER, HALL COUNTY, NEBRASKA AN ORDINANCE to levy the cost of demolition and removal of a portion of a building located upon Lot Seven (7) in Block Eleven (11) in the First Addition to Wood River, Hall County, Nebraska, as a special assessment. WHEREAS, the City of Wood River has employed Jerome Packer Concrete & Masonry to demolish and remove the remaining portion of a building located upon Lot Seven (7), Block Eleven. (11) in the First Addition to the City of Wood River, Hall County, Nebraska, pursuant to Section 18 -1722 R.R.S. Nebraska, and WHEREAS, the City of Wood River, Nebraska, is empowered by law to levy the cost of demolition and removal of unsafe buildings as a special assessment against the land; BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF WOOD RIVER, HALL COUNTY, NEBRASKA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The cost of removal and demolition of the remaining portion of a building previously determined by the City Council to be an unsafe building located upon Lot Seven (7) in Block Eleven (11) in the First Addition to Wood River, Hall County, Nebraska, should be, and hereby is, levied as a special assessment against said described real estate in the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00). Section 2. Said special assessment shall become due and payable immediately upon passage of this Ordinance as provided by law. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a copy of this Ordinance with the Hall County Register of Deeds upon its passage. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in force and take effect upon its passage and publication as provided by law.
