87-- 105557 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7411 <br />An ordinance requiring grading, curbing, guttering, and <br />paving of Lambert Street from Ninth Street to Twelfth Streets <br />providing for the levy and collection of special taxes and <br />assessments upon the adjacent or abutting properties specially <br />benefited by such improvements; and providing an effective date <br />of this ordinance. <br />WHEREAS, that portion of Lambert Street from Ninth Street to <br />Twelfth Street is unpaved and does not exceed two blocks <br />including intersections, or thirteen hundred twenty -five feet, <br />whichever is the lesser; and <br />WHEREAS, paving said portion of Lambert Street will make <br />Lambert Street one continuous paved street. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA: <br />4 <br />SECTION 1. Pursuant to Chapter 18, Article 20, R.R.S. <br />Nebraska 1943, that portion of Lambert Street from Ninth Street <br />to Twelfth Street shall be improved by paving, curbing, <br />guttering, and all incidental work in connection therewith, to be <br />known as street improvement No. 1154G, in accordance with plans <br />and specifications prepared by the Engineer for the City and <br />approved by the Mayor and Council. <br />SECTION 2. The improvements shall be made at public cost, <br />but the cost thereof, excluding intersections, shall be assessed <br />upon the lots and lands in the district specially benefited <br />thereby as provided by law. <br />SECTION 3. The lots and parcels of real estate adjacent to <br />or abutting upon the portion of said street to be improved are <br />located within the following boundaries: <br />Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 8, Block 36, <br />Lambert's Addition in the City of Grand Island, said <br />point also being the intersection of the west line of <br />Lambert Street and the North line of Ninth Street; <br />thence westerly on the North line of Ninth Street for a <br />distance of one hundred seventeen and five - tenths <br />(117.5) feet; thence northerly on a line to a point <br />forty -two and thirty -nine hundredths (42.39) feet West <br />of the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 36, rt's <br />
