<br />88- <br /> <br />103697 <br /> <br />JUt.. 51988 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7462 <br /> <br />An ordinance requirin~.grading, curbing, guttering, and <br />paving of Blake Street from Darr Avenue to Old Lincoln Highway; <br />providing for the levy and collection of special taxes and <br />assessments upon the adjacent or abutting properties specially <br />benefited by such improvements; and providing an effective date <br />of this ordinance. <br />WHEREAS, that portion of Blake Street from Darr Avenue to <br />Old Lincoln Highway is unpaved and does not exceed two blocks <br />including intersections, or thirteen hundred twenty-five feet, <br />whichever is the lesser; and <br />WHEREAS, paving said portion of Blake Street will make Blake <br />Street one continuous paved street. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND C;:OUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA: <br />SECTION 1. Pursuant to Chapter 18, Article 20, R.R.S. <br />Nebraska 1943, that portion of Blake Street from Carr Avenue to <br />Old Lincoln Highway shall be improved by paving, curbing, <br />guttering, and all incidental work in connection therewith, to be <br />known as street improvement No. 116SG, in accordance with plans <br />and specifications prepared by the Engineer for the City and <br />approved by the Mayor and Council. <br />SECTION 2. The improvements shall be made at public cost, <br />but the cost thereof, excluding intersections, shall be assessed <br />upon the lots and lands in the district specially benefited <br />thereby as provided by law. <br />SECTION 3. Construction of said improvements shall not <br />commence prior to January 1, 1992. <br />SECTION 4. Assessments levied against adjacent properties <br />shall be payable over a term of twenty (20) years, provided, that <br />such term is permitted by the statutes of the State of Nebraska <br />at the time of levy. If such term is not permitted, then the <br />assessments shall be payable over the maximum term permitted. <br /> <br />SECTION 5.
