PROJECT NOTES
(c) Vertical and horizontal separations between telecommunications facilities and other
facilities shall be maintained as required by the NESC Section 32 Underground Conduit Systems.
Conduit systems for telecommunications facilities shall be separated from conduit systems for
power supply systems by:
(1) 3 inches of concrete
(2) 4 inches of masonry
(3) 12 inches of well -tamped earth
Warning Tape
(a) A detectable orange colored cable warning tape shall be placed 12 to 18 inches above, the
conduit in the trench.
Hand -holes
(a) All cavities required for cable pulling purpose shall be constructed
as load bearing Hand -holes.
(b) Hand -holes shall be placed at as specified on plans and approved by Viaero fiber Networks..
In no case shall conduit bend radius exceed 180 degrees between structures.
Hand -holes shall be either a 48"x30"x24" precast composite concrete or a 24"x36"x24"
precast composite concrete. Refer to project detail sheet 64 for specifications.
Separations from Other Public Utilities and Drainage Facilities
(a) Parallel separations are required to satisfy standards for utility trenching excavations
and to provide for adequate maintenance operations.
(1) The minimum parallel separation between telecommunications conduit and
water pipe or drainage pipe and other pipe with a depth of cover of less than 6
feet shall be 5 feet.
(2) The minimum parallel separation between telecommunications conduit and
wastewater pipe or other pipe with a depth of cover of more than 6 feet shall be
10 feet.
(b) Vertical separation at utility crossings shall be as follows:
(1) The minimum vertical separation between telecommunications conduit
and City public utilities shall be 6 inches.
All crossings of natural and improved drainage ways, and irrigation ditches, shall meet the following
conditions:
(1) Telecommunications conduit shall be placed a minimum 48 inches below the invert
of the drainage way or ditch. This minimum depth of cover shall apply whether or not the
drainage way is an open system or contained within a culvert.
(2) The telecommunications conduit shall be placed in a SDR -11 to accomidate placed conduits.
When the drainage way or ditch is an open system, the sleeve shall extend a minimum
horizontal distance of 10 feet beyond each side of the drainage way, measured from top of
bank to top of bank.
(3) When the drainage way or ditch is in a culvert, and the culvert opening is greater than 5 feet,
the sleeve shall extend a minimum horizontal distance of 5 feet beyond each side of the
culvert, or shall extend a minimum horizontal distance equal to the vertical depth of the
culvert, measured from the culvert invert to the final ground surface above the culvert.
<o■c31.ii[3®e®o
X
LEGEND
S Itlr SIGN
DRE HYDRANT
WATER METER
GAS METIER
ELECTRIC METER
UTUTY VALVE
W ITTY POLE
W ITTY MANHOLE
EXISTING STCRM MAIMOLE
CASING STREET uGNT
EASING WITTY HANOHOLE
EIECIBCAL/IITUTY CABINET
ILERHONE PED - CROSS BOM
PROPOSED NAERO MANHOLE
495900D NAERO HANDHCLT
STORM INET
STORM GRATE
CULVERT
TREE
BORE RT
EXISTING MELT
EASING LANDSCAPE AREA
E)0 11NG POLE 501 TOMER
EASING RR CROSSING ARM
LINETYPES
-- CD01AT-IDT M 0006RAC1
ONF
COW1-1RDKN
COWT-CRECTYNLL 91,0
AAM -O -IAT
EDGE GE ArVLT
EDGE OF GRAIL
EDGE O WINK
TAE
INCE-ESSING
1000 FENCE-El]SOIG
01060 01-D3SI11G
RRAAOIIFDOSING
GAS-E0STRG
110906+010 E06 -901E16110
9001111ID pECIFV- ASTIR
BIPED ran-ETS1NC
MEMO( -EASING
01900190-0951006
SMART SEAR -ENING
MIN
161ER-0ISRIG
AADNGtSSING
DATE CREATED: 1/16/2023
DATE REVISED 9/28/2023
DATE PLOTTED: 9/28/2023
DRAWN BY: D.
