No excavation will be permitted in the area of the underground utilities until <br />all facilities have been located and identified to the satisfaction of aII partes. The contractor shall be responsible for <br />protection of all underground and aerial utilities and infrastructure. <br />Whenever underground facilites are in close proximity to the proposed pathway location or whenever the vertical <br />location Of the underground facility rs unknown. the contractor 5h311 use special measures to determine to locations <br />of such underground fackities. <br />a. If the contractor is conducting the excavation by digging from the surface. when in a close proximity to the <br />underground facilities. the contractor shall use hand dg8rg. hydro excavating. or air excava5ng to locate such <br />facility <br />b M the contractor is conducting the excavation by tunneling or boring. the contractor shall deter -rime the vertical <br />location of the underground facility by potholing or any other method approved by the director of public works and <br />util rtes <br />8 Project plans shah dimension new facilities being installed <br />7 Unless agreed to in wring in advance the depth of installed facilities in city and county row shall be at a minimum <br />as follows'. <br />a Forty-eight (48I inches in soil <br />b.
