Whenever underground facilities are In dose proximity to the proposed pathway location or whenever the vertical <br />location of the underground facility is unknown, the contractor shall use special measures to determine the iodations <br />of such underground faolithes. <br />a If the contractor Is conducting the excavation by digging from the surface. when in a dose proximity to the <br />underground facilitesthe contractor shall use nand digging. hydro excavating. or air excavating to locate such <br />facility. <br />b.
