200009035
WOOD RIVER WATERSHED & FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT
ADDENDUM TO CONTRACT FOR SALE OF LAND BY
STUHR MUSEUM OF THE PRAIRIE PIONEER
1. The Central Platte Natural Resource District, as part of the project, will install a six -foot high
(6 -wire) fence at the bottom of the north berm of the channel approximately 12 feet from
the edge of the new property line at the base of the channel. The fence will be made using
cedar posts.
4
2. The north side slope of the berm will be shaped to a natural contour representing a natural
lay of the land. The fence will follow the newly- created natural contour of the berm from
the western edge of the Museum's property at Highway 281 to the eastern edge of the
Museum's property ending at the Union Pacific railroad fence.
3. Upon completion of the construction project, the Central Platte Natural Resource District
will use cool season native grasses and wildflowers native to Nebraska prior to European
settlement to seed the north berm. Initially, a wheat or oats cover crop will be planted to
reduce erosion and to give the native grasses and wildflowers a chance to start.
4. The wetlands will be shaped properly of hydric soils and at varying depths.
5. The 106 cedar trees currently found along the southern edge of Stuhr Museum's property
will be replaced with three to four varieties of six- to twelve -foot trees to be chosen by the
museum. The Museum will direct how and where the new trees will be placed. The Central
Platte Natural Resource District will provide the funding for the tree replacement and the
labor to plant the new trees.
6. Stuhr Museum's burn pile will be relocated close to the edge of the north berm on the
southwest corner of the museum's remaining property.
x
7. If necessary, the Central Platte Resource District will replace the trees and vegetation needed
to camouflage the flood gate from public view.
8. The Central Platte Natural Resources District will pay for all costs of document preparation
and filing of contracts.
9. Stuhr Museum will provide reasonable access to its property during the construction of the
project.
10. The Settlement Check will be mailed approximately 45 to 60 days after all documents
provided by the Central Platte Natural Resource District are completed, signed by the
Museum, and the completed files have been returned.
11. The temporary easements will exist for two years after the notice to proceed has been issued
to the project contractor.
12. The Central Platte Natural Resource District will provide accurate surveys for tracts 502E1
and 502E2.
