Section 14. Tax Elections: My Agent may make any income tax, estate tax, gift tax, inheritance tax, generation- skipping tax or other tax elections which I could make. Section 15. Investment of Assets: My Agent may invest and reinvest any of my money, property or the proceeds of any of my investments, including any income from my investments as my Agent shall deem proper. Section 16. Power to Sign Documents: My Agent shall have full power to sign, acknowledge or deliver any contracts, deeds or other documents as may be necessary or advisable to carry out the purposes of this Power of Attorney. Section 17. Pre -need Burial Arrangements: My Agent may purchase funeral arrangements, a casket, a cemetery lot, a marker, grave opening and other burial needs and services on a pre -need basis. My Agent may designate as irrevocable the amount permitted under Medicaid standards. Section 18. Gifts: My Agent may make gifts, grants or other transfers without consideration, either outright or in Trust. Recipients of any such gifts shall be limited to my children and the issue of my children. If a gift is made to a descendant of mine by my Agent, then my Agent shall make a gift of substantially equal value to all the descendants of mine in the same generation. My Agent shall not make any gifts that are not excluded from gift tax by my federal gift tax annual exclusion. This annual right shall be non - cumulative and shall lapse at the end of each calendar year. Such power to give shall continue to apply even though one or more of my children may become my Agent pursuant to this Power of Attorney. ARTICLE III. Third Party Reliance 201705946 Section 1. Protection of Third Party: No person who relies in good faith on the authority of my Agent under this instrument shall incur any liability to me, my estate or my personal representative. Section 2. Alternate Agent, Affidavit of Regarding Prior Agents: Any party dealing with any person named as alternate Agent under this Power of Attorney may conclusively rely on an affidavit of such alternate Agent that those persons named as prior Agents are no longer serving.
