201404806 other state and federal tax returns that I am or may be required to file; to sign my name on tax returns, including without limitation Forms IRS 1040 and FTB 540; to hire preparers and advisors and pay them for their services; and to do whatever is necessary to protect my assets from assessments for income taxes and other taxes for all years. My Agent is specifically authorized to receive confidential information, to receive checks in payment of any refund of taxes, penalties, or interest; to execute waivers (including offers of waivers) of restrictions on assessment or collection of tax deficiencies and waivers of notice of disallowance of claims for credit or refund; to execute consents extending the statutory period for assessment or collection of taxes; to execute closing agreements under Internal Revenue Code Section 7121; and to delegate authority or substitute another representative with respect to all of the above matters; 9. Accounts: To deposit in and draw on any checking, savings, agency, or other accounts that I may have in any banks, savings and loan associations, and any accounts with securities brokers or other commercial institutions, and to establish and terminate all such accounts; 10. Safe Deposit Boxes: To have access to all safe deposit boxes in my name or to which I am an authorized signatory; to contract with financial institutions for the maintenance and continuation of safe deposit boxes in my name; to add to and remove the contents of all such safe deposit boxes; and to terminate contracts for all such safe deposit boxes; 11. Personal Care: To do all things and enter into all transactions necessary to provide for my personal care, to maintain my customary standard of living, to provide suitable living quarters for me, and to hire and compensate household, nursing and other employees as my attorney considers advisable for my well being. The above shall specifically include but not be limited to the authority to enter into contracts with hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, convalescent homes, and similar organizations; 12. Benefits: To apply for and make any elections required for payment of governmental, insurance, retirement, or other benefits to which I may be entitled, to take possession of all such benefits, and to distribute such benefits to or for my benefit; 13. IRAs /Pensions: To establish and contribute to IRA accounts and other employee benefit plans on my behalf; to select or change payment options and make elections under any IRA or employee benefit plan in which I am a participant; and to make "rollovers" of plan benefits into other retirement plans; 14. Gifts: (a) To make gifts, grants, or other transfers without consideration to or for the benefit of my spouse or descendants or a charitable organization, or more than one or all of them, either outright or in trust, including (1) annual gifts to the full extent of the federal annual gift tax exclusion then in effect under Internal Revenue Code Section 2503(b); (2) direct payments to the provider for tuition and medical expenses under Internal Revenue Code Section 2503(e); and (3) charitable pledges.
