<br />� bein� a resident of, and having legal dar�icile in, Grand Island,
<br /> Hall County, Ne'braska, and being of sound and disposing mind and
<br /> memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this instrument to be
<br /> my Last U1i11 and Testament.
<br /> l. I hereby cancel, revoke and annul all prior wills
<br /> arid codicils made by me at any time heretofore.
<br /> 2. I direct that the expenses of my last illness and
<br /> funeral expense's be paid as soon as practicable after my decease.
<br /> 3• I hereby appoint Lor.etta H. Lang, rny wife, as execu-
<br /> trix oi my estate. If she fails to qua:lify, or ceases to serve ,
<br /> as such executrix, then I appoint 0:: �dward Rank, my broth�r-in-la�r,
<br /> as executor. If he also fails to qualify, or ceases to serve, as
<br /> such ex�cutor, then I appoint Harley G. Candish as executor. All
<br /> three are residents of Grand Island, Nebraska. I-request that no
<br /> bond or surety 'shall be required, if any serves as executrix or �
<br />�, executor. The executor, executrix, administrator with will annexed,
<br /> or other le�al representative of my estate, whether male or female,
<br /> is hereafter r�ferred to in the masculine singular as my executor.
<br /> w. I hereby authorize and empower my executor, within
<br /> his absolute discretion, to renew exist;ing obligations, to compromise
<br /> any ciaims, and to sell, exchange, convey, transfer, assign, mortgage,
<br /> pledge, lease , rent, and invest or reinvest, the whole or
<br /> any part of my real or personal estate, and without consent of any
<br /> Court if my executor is one of` thr three persons specifically named
<br /> in Paraoraph 3 , above, but if anyone else serves as executor, then
<br /> consent of the Court having charge of my estate shall be obtained.
<br /> Any payment or distribution may be made either directly �o the bene-
<br /> ficiaries entitled thereto, regardless of his or her a�;e at the
<br /> time, or may be paid or distributed to any other person, firm,
<br /> corporation, or institution far such beneficiaries' direct or
<br /> indirect benefit. The simple receipt of the person to whom dis-
<br /> tribution is macie shall discharge my executor. i
