AFFIDAVIT <br />STATE OF NEBRASKA., ) <br />ss. <br />Hamilton County. ) <br />CHARLES F. ADAMS, being first duly sworn, on his oath <br />deposes and says as follows: <br />My name is Charles F. Adams. I am now and have been <br />for more than twenty -five years last past a practicing lawyer in the City <br />of Aurora, Hamilton County, Nebraska. I was employed to perform the <br />necessary legal services in connection with the Estate of Arthur C. <br />Schwarzentruber, deceased, who died June 11, 1947, and who was at the <br />time of his death a resident of Hamilton County, Nebraska. Said deceased <br />and his surviving widow, Clara J. Schwarzentruber, owned the following <br />described real estate: <br />The East Half of the Southeast Quarter <br />(EZ SE) of Section Three (3), Township Nine <br />(9) North, Range Nine (9) West of the 6th P. M. , <br />in Hall County, Nebraska. <br />I prepared the federal estate tax return for said estate and <br />included the above described real estate in Schedule E therein and trans- <br />mitted said estate tax return to the Director of Internal Revenue, Omaha, <br />Nebraska, on September 10, 1948, and attached to said return the check of <br />the Executrix in payment of the tax therein disclosed in the amount of <br />$19,743.66. I have in my possession a receipt for said amount dated <br />September 14, 1948. <br />After said return was audited a deficiency in the amount of <br />$197. 99 was paid to the Director of Internal Revenue as evidenced by a <br />receipt now in my possession dated April 26, 1950. Subsequently interest <br />on said deficiency in the amount of $18. 57 was paid, as evidenced by a <br />receipt now in my possession dated May 1, 1950.
