L E A S E <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 11th day <br />of July, 1956, by and between Lena Baasch, a widow, party of <br />the first part and hereinafter called the Owner, and Luther - <br />Maddox Sand and Gravel Company, a Partnership, consisting of <br />Don Luther and Ralph Maddox, parties of the second part, here- <br />inafter called the Gravel Operators. <br />WITNESSETH: <br />That the Owner, under the terms and conditions and <br />agreements hereinafter set forth, does hereby lease to the <br />Gravel Operators, with the rights and privileges hereinafter <br />set forth, the following real property and interest in real <br />property, situate in the County of Hall and State of Nebraska, <br />to -wit: <br />A strip of land off the east side of the Southwest <br />Quarter of the Northeast Quarter and Lot Two (2) <br />on Island in) °Section Thirteen (13) running from.. <br />south to north through said premises with parrallel <br />sides 26J rods wide, containing about 23 1/3 acres <br />all in Section Thirteen (13), Township Eleven (11), <br />North, Range Nine (9), West of the 6th P. M., in <br />Hall County, Nebraska. <br />from July 11, 1956, to July 11, 1961, Gravel Operators agree <br />to commence operations on or before the 1st day of May, 1962, <br />the Gravel Operators having the option to renew said lease <br />for periods of five years, beginning July 11, 1961, by notifying <br />the owner at least thirty days prior to each option date, all <br />subject to earlier termination as hereinafter set forth. <br />That said Gravel Operators are engated in the busi- <br />ness of pumping, excavating, and otherwise producing and selling <br />sand and gravel for highway and building construction, and for <br />other purposes. <br />That this lease is made for the purpose of, and said <br />Gravel Operators shall have and is hereby granted, the right <br />during the lease period aforesaid to excavate, pump, dredge, <br />and otherwise remove sand and gravel from the leased premises, <br />in such quantities and in such manner as they may from time to <br />
