A F F I D A V I T <br />Re: The northerly 77 feet of :fractional lot 4 in fractional <br />'block 19 in kernohan and Decker's Addition to the City <br />of Grand Island, hall County, Nebraska, and its complement, <br />to wit: Fractional lot 4 in fractional block 19 in <br />Palmer's Subdivision of the southeast quarter of the <br />southwest quarter of section 16 in township 11_ north, <br />range 9, west of the 6th P.M., and being a rectangular tract <br />of aground having a northerly frontage of 66 feet on Second <br />Street and a westerly frontage of 77 feet on Madison Street <br />in said City. <br />STATE OF NEBRASKA <br />s s : <br />COi'NTY OF BALL <br />A. ?. Luebs, being first duly sworn on oath deposes and says <br />that lie is an attorney duly licensed and practicing in the City <br />of Grand. Island; that he was personally and well acquainted <br />with Howard E. Ashburn, prior to October 19, 1934, and thereafter <br />to the time of his death on September 29, 1949; that the said <br />Howard E. Ashburn was an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad <br />Company pr:i_or to August of' 1948, at which time he was unable to <br />continue to work by reason of failing health; that thereafter <br />lie enl'ered the Veteran's hospital for treatment and did no <br />further- work until. the time of his death; that the real. estate <br />above described was the homestead of the said Howard. E. Ashburn <br />and his wife and family; that the value of said premises at the <br />time of the death of howard E. Ashburn was not in excess of <br />.'1,5,000.00; that there was no other personal property except <br />personal ef`ects and household furnishings and affiant knows of <br />his own knowledge and states positively that there would be no <br />inheritance tax liability on the part of any property in which <br />the said Howard E.
