AFFIDAVIT <br />STATE OF NEBRASKA <br />ss. <br />COUNTY OF HALL <br />WALTER P. LAURITSEN, being duly sworn on oath, deposes <br />and says that he has examined the plats and records in the <br />office of the Register of Deeds in and for Hall County, Nebraska <br />which are involved with the content of this affidavit, and states <br />a.s follolas; <br />That Charles 1asmer's Third Addition to the Citv of <br />Grand Island, Nebraska was dedicated on June 17, 1887 and-that <br />the original plat of said addition was filed in said office on <br />June 18, 1887; that the recorded Mat of said addition shows <br />that the streets next to the westerly of Tilden Street were <br />designated as Butler Street and Powell Street; that by plat <br />filed and recorded in said office on I'larch 16, 1891, two blocks <br />within said VT,9smer's Third Addition to the City of Grand Island, <br />1Tebra.ska here replatted and resubdivided, and on said plat and, <br />resubdivision, the streets next to the westerly of Tilden Street <br />Tere designated as Clay Street and Grant Street. <br />That Prior to recording; of the plat of Charles 7asmer l s <br />Third Addition to the City of Grand Islq.rid, Nebraska, a 7)arcel <br />of land to the northwest of said addition was platted as Baker's <br />Addition to the City of Grand Island, Nebraska; that the streets <br />designated as Butler Street and Powell Street in Charles Wasmerts <br />Third Addition would be extensions of the streets designated <br />as Clay Street and grant Street in said Baker's .addition; that <br />afterward and in 1890, two .further addit ions to the City of <br />Grand Island, being; 7.orrill' Ad lition and ?`food Bine addition, <br />were platted and established ^ "nd filled in the area between Charles <br />y:'asmerIs Third Addition and Baker's Addition, iuith said same <br />streets beinff designated in said additions as Clay Street and Grant <br />Street; that upon all four of said named additions being platted <br />and recorded, said continuous streets were designated as Clay <br />Street and Grant Street, and upon the replatting of certain blocks <br />of Charles 7asraer's Third Addition in 1891 said streets is7ere also <br />designated. as Clay Street and grant Street. <br />'hat ilutler Street as designated in the plat of said <br />Charles Wasmer's Third Addition has been knorm as and referred to <br />as Clay Street since prior to 1891, and said Clay Street is one <br />and the same street at the street designated as Bjller Street <br />when said "'harles 17asmerls Third Addition i -gas originally platted; <br />that Po -,yell Street as designated in the plat of said Charles <br />`!`a.smer l s Third Addition has been known as and referred to <br />as Grand.
