E A S E M E N T <br /> WHEREAS, F. B. Smith, has made application to the Light Department <br /> of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, to be served with electric energy <br /> and power, and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to furnish the same, it will be necessary to <br /> construct a power line over land belonging to John Anderson and Marie <br /> C. Anderson, his wife. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE in consideration of the sum of One Dollar and other <br /> valuable considerations, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the <br /> grantors, John Anderson and Marie C. Anderson, his wife, do hereby grant, <br /> bargain, and convey unto the City of Grand Island, an easement over a <br /> strip of land ten feet in width situated in the Vest Half of the East <br /> Half of the Southwest quarter of Section 4, Township 11, North, Range <br /> Nine west of the 6th P. M. , more particularly described as follows: <br /> Beginning at a point one frot South and 62.8 feet east of <br /> the northeast corner of Block 7, Rains First Addition to <br /> the City of Grand Island, running thence Southeast approx- <br /> imately 675 feet to the east line of the West half of the <br /> East half of the Southwest quarter of said section, running <br /> thence north alone* the east line of the West half of the <br /> East half of the Southwest quarter of said section, 10.2 feet, <br /> running thence northwesterly and parallel to the southerly <br /> line of the easement 675 feet to the west line of the vest <br /> half of the East half of the Southwest quarter of erection <br /> 4, running thence south, 10.2 feet to the point of beginning. <br /> It is understood and agreed that the easement herein granted shall <br /> be used for the purpose of constructing a power line thereon; that the <br /> said City of Grand Island shall have the right to enter upon the land <br /> herein described for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, operating, <br /> and inspecting said pole line, and for that purpose, the said City of <br /> Grand Island, its agents, servants and employees shall have free right <br /> of ingress and egress. <br /> It is understood and agreed that the grantors shall have the right <br /> to plant crops on the right-of-way herein described; and that the said <br /> City of Grand Island will cause as little damage as possible to any <br /> growing crops thereon; that the grantors will plant no trees on said <br /> right-of-way which will interfere with the operation and maintenance <br /> of said power line, and that the said City of Grand Island shall have <br /> 477 <br />
