J. Cunningham being first duly sworn on his oath <br /> deposes and says that he has resided continuously in Grand <br /> Island, Nebraska for more than LO years last past; that <br /> affiant is familar with the title and transfers to the above <br /> described property and the occupancy and ownership thereof <br /> since March 23, 1917. <br /> Affiant further states that on March 23, 1917 the above <br /> described property was purchased by St. Nary' s Church, a cor- <br /> Donation, of Grand Island, Nebraska; that said. property was <br /> purchased for the Diocese of Grand Island, Nebraska, formerly <br /> the Diocese of Kearney, Nebraska; that affiant was a member <br /> of the committee which solicited funds for the purchase of • <br /> said property; that affiant examined the abstract therefor <br /> and that said property was taken in the name of St. Mary' s <br /> Church, a corporation, of Grand Island, Nebraska, to be used <br /> by the Bishop of the Diocese, to-wit: James A. Duffy; that <br /> the said Diocese of Grand Island and the said James A. Duffy, <br /> as Bishop and President of said Diocese, went into possession <br /> of all of said premises on or about the llth day of April, <br /> 1917; that all of said premises were occupied by James A. <br /> Duffy, Bishop of the Diocese of Grand Island. and President of <br /> the Diocese of Grand Island until on or about December 18, <br /> 1931 at which time Bishop S. V. Bona was appointed Bishop <br /> of Grand Island; that Bishop S. V. Bona occupied said Premises <br /> as Bishop of Grand Island from December 18, 1931 until the <br /> 15th day of Nay, 1945 at which time Edward J. Hunkeler wa s <br /> appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Grand Island rnd President <br /> 4/4/7 <br />
