<br /> on March 17, 1968, and said merger being eff ective on June 1, .1968,
<br /> : and the uniting services being he2d on June 9�; 1968.
<br /> Affiant further states that nvtice of the voting on the
<br /> merger between said twu churches was given to all the members as re-
<br /> quired by law, by newsletter, announcements from the pulpit by the
<br /> minister, Rev. Larry Vallery, and in the weekly Church bulletins,�
<br /> not less than ten days, nor more than fifty days, prior to said 'd�te;
<br /> that the Church bulletin for Sunday, February 18, 1968, announced:
<br /> � "VOTE ON CHURCH UNION - Wi11 be taken immediately following the wor-
<br /> ship service on Sunday, March 17th. (Pending approval of the 4th' Q.
<br /> Conference.)".; that the Eourth Quarterly Conference was held in said
<br /> Church on February 29,. 1968, and said merger was approved; that .the -
<br /> Church Bulletin for Sunday, March 3, 1968, announced: "CONGREGATIONAL
<br /> MEETING (CHURCH CONFERINCE) - Will be held immediately following •
<br /> church services on Sunday, March 17th, for the purpose af voting on �
<br /> the proposed plan of inerger."; that in the Church bulletin for Sun-
<br /> day, March 10, 1968, it announced: "DISCU�SION GROUP MEETINGS - On
<br /> Methodist and LT,C.C. Church merger w:tll be hel.d at the Methodist'.
<br /> � Church on Monday, :March llth and at the U.C.C: Church on Wednesda�r,
<br /> March. l3th. Both of these meetings will begiri at 7: 30. If you t�ave
<br /> any questions or comment, please come to one ar both o.f these meetings
<br /> to listen and be heard.''; and that iri the Church bulletin for Sunday,
<br /> March 17, 1968, the following announcement appeared: "VOTE ON CHURCH
<br /> UNION - Will be taken following the Church services this morning. -
<br /> The members of the United Church of Christ� wi•11 remain in the sanctu-
<br /> � ary to vote while the .members of the Methodist Church will retire to
<br /> the basement to vote. More instructio�rs will� be given following the
<br /> service." . '
<br /> . Affiant further states that the meetings to vote on
<br /> merger were presided over .by Dr. Fred Register, who was the Conference
<br /> Minister, similar to a Bishop in the Methoc�is.t Church, of, the Nebraska
<br /> = Conference of the United Church of Christ,� €rom the State Headquarters
<br /> . of said Church, in Lincoi.�, Nebraska, _ ttiat �he merger passed by more
<br /> • than`the necessarq two-thirds vo�e, the me�bers of the-United Cti.u�ch
