<br /> SECTION I. The Cemetery situated in,the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of the South-
<br /> west CZuarter of Seation:Sia (6);-Town Nine (9), Range Twelve (12) North, County of Hall, 8tate of Ne-
<br /> br¢slea s3tall+be<d.ominated as the Shelton,Townahip Cemetery and ahall be the proDerty oY Shelton Township,
<br /> Bu"ffato Cannty,I�Ie�sraska, on the conditiona set forth in the Deed conveying said Cemetery to Shelton Town-
<br /> ' ahip, Buffato County Nebraaka, from the Shelton Cemetery Asaociatlon.
<br /> SECTION TI The $heltan Township Cemetery ahall be under the management and control of a
<br /> Board of Trustees, consisting o!thr8e qualified electors of the Townshtp oP Shelton, who ahall hold theii• ot-
<br /> fice for a term of three year8, and'natil their aucceasors are elected and qualified.
<br /> SECTION IIL ' At the aanuai town meeting of Shelton Township held on the fifth day of hlarch,
<br /> `' � 1918, ''the electors present shail elect one Trustee for a term oL three (3) years, and one to hold his office
<br /> ' '� for,a term of two (2) years, and one who shall hold his oLLice for a term of one (1) year, and there shall be
<br /> . elec'te�anriu�lly thereafter one Trustee who shall �old his office for three (3) years. Said election to be b3�
<br /> ballot, equiring a majority of all votes cast to conatitute an election.
<br /> SECTION IV:' Before entering upon the:dutiea of their office, each trustee shall take and subscribe to
<br /> the following oath bePore the Town Clerk:
<br /> I , do solemnly swear that I will snpport the Constitution of the United States, and
<br /> the conatitution of the State of Nebraska and that I will faithfully pei•form all the duties imposed upon me
<br /> j by...the state laws, and the by-laws of Shelton townahip, and especially those laws and by-laws governing Shei
<br /> Eon township Cemetery: -
<br /> � ` SECTION V. The board of Lrustees ahall meet not-later than ten (10) days after the annual Town-
<br /> ��ship meeting and shall organize by electing one oP their number Chairman, and another of their number
<br /> Secretary. It shald be the duty of the Chairman to preside at all meetings of the board, to sign all deeds
<br /> and all warrants. It shall be the duty of the secretary to keep a record of all meetings; he shall also,have ,
<br /> authority to sell lots, issue and sign deeds Yor same, to aign all warrants on the township treasure�•, an.d to
<br /> collect all moneys arising from the sale of lota or from any other source for the benefit of the Cer.iete"���, _ „ p
<br /> and to pay the same over to the Townahip Treasurer, taking his receipt therefor.
<br /> SECTION vI. The Secretary shall before entering upon the dnties of his offiee and not latei•than ten
<br /> (10) days after his appointment or election, give bonds for twice the amount of money that is liable to
<br /> come into his hands in any one year, conditioned upon the faithful performance of his duty as Secretaiy.
<br /> The amount of the bonds shall be Yixed by the Townahip Board, who shall approve the said bonds; said
<br /> bond shall be filed with the Township Clerk and shall run to Shelton Township.
<br /> SECTION VII. All moniea arising from the sale of lots and from all.other sources for the benefit ct'
<br /> the Cemetery shall constitute a Cemetery fund and shall be kept separate from the oth�i• funds of the Tow�n-
<br /> ship by the Townshig Treasurer; and it is hereby made the duty of the Township Treasurer to lceep an
<br /> itemized account of the receipts and expenditures of the Cemetery fund.
<br /> SECTION VIII. The Towaship Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay all �varrants en the Cemetery
<br /> fun3 th°�t a�e signed by the Chairman and $ecretary of the Board uf Trustees, to a limit of the funds on hand
<br /> in said Cemetery fund.
<br /> S�CTION IX. It is hereby made the duty of the electors present at the annual Township meeting to
<br /> ma::e a levy which in their judgmeat will raise sufficient funds to meet the rc7u'rements of the cemetery
<br /> for the eusuing year. '
<br /> SLCTION X. The Truateea shall have power on behalf of the To.,nstiip te rnake 111 contracts ancl
<br /> superintend all labor done; to direct the expenditure of all money and super;ntend all impro��ements and em-
<br /> oellishments of the Cemetery aubject only to the wili of a majority of the e.ect�:s p esert at any annuai Town
<br /> sh'p meet:ng, and to have general supervision of the Cemetery and the property thereto Uelcnging aud to
<br /> keep the sa,me in as good repair as the funds will permit. `
<br /> SECTION XI. The trustees ahall contract no greater expenditures than has been provided for in ihe
<br /> a Cemete�•y fund, but the Townahip Board may, in case oP sudden or uuexpected ernergency,. aPP1'�pl•iate L'rom
<br /> the general fund of the Township, such sum oY money, as in their discretion shall be necessaiy to meet such
<br /> emergeney, provided the amount on hand in the general fund will perm9t �vithout serious detriment to the
<br /> other interests of the Towaship.
<br /> SECTION XII. The Trustees shall receive the following.compensation for the time expended in the
<br /> interests of Shelton Townshlp Cemetery:' the Secretary shall receive tne su�n of torty doilars per annuin;
<br /> the Chairman shall receive the sum of Pi4teen dollars per annum; the other inember cf the board shali receive
<br /> the sum of ten dollars per annum.
<br /> � SECTION.XIII. The Secretary shall not allow any interments in any unsold lots in the Cemetery,
<br /> except in thgrppart kno n as the "Potter's Field", and no lot shall be sold until it has been paid for iu �cash,
<br /> - � or other��isc�the sati faction of the Seeretary, who shall be responsible for the amount of aii sales.
<br /> SEC�N-X�V. The'Trustees may seaure the services of a suitabl� p�:son ta dig and fill all graves.
<br /> ,�„�„ The compen ion, be paid for this work ahall be determined by the Trustees, but said compensation sha'1
<br /> be collected � t $r -digger from the,party or parties having the interment made and shall be i•etained
<br /> by him as hi3Vot co nsation for digging and filling said grave.
<br /> • ! -S�CT�N' interment shall be made in Shelton Township Cemetery nor shall any grave be
<br /> r�+ digged therein, uu� rial Permit ahall have been obtained from the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

<br /> SEC�N . �Y Person may purchase one or more lots in Shelton Township Cemetery for the
<br /> ��, purpose of i rm , aying`the appraised value of th@same as established by the Board of Trustees and
<br /> eompiying a�i'al� q �menta of t'heee by-lawa that may relate to or govern the sale of lots.
<br /> ,""' SECTIOIV XVII. All vacanciea in the office of Trustees shall be filled by appointment by the Town-
<br /> ` �: sk�ip Board, and the appointee ahall hold.office until the xt annual township meeting, when the vacancy-
