ORDINANCE NO 5 2 5 2 0� 2 013'7 � An Ordinance of the City of Wood River, Nebraska, to levy the costs of demolition, removal of debris, costs for removal of a building, costs of hauling landfill costs and weed removal costs in connection with a building located upon Lots 5 and 6, Block 12, Brett and Johnson's Addition to the City of Wood River, Hall County, Nebraska (commonly known as 611 East 12 Street) as a special assessment. WHEREAS, the City of Wood River, Nebraska, pursuant to Section 18-1722 R.R.S. Nebraska, has heretofore given notice to the owner of Lots 5& 6, Block 12, Brett and Johnson's Addition to the City of Wood River, Hall County, Nebraska, to rehabilitate, remove weeds, demolish or remove the building upon said property as an unsafe building or structure as a public nuisance, and WHEREAS, the owner has failed and refused to comply with the Notice of the City of Wood River, Nebraska, necessitating the employment by the City of equipment, materials, and labor to demolish the building, remove the debris, pay the landfill costs for disposal of the debris, and to fine grade the property, and WHEREAS, the City of Wood River is empowered by law to levy the costs associated with demolition and removal, including the costs to restore the surface of the land as a special assessment; BE IT TI�REFORE ORDAINED BY TI� MAYOR AND TI� CITY COUNCIL OF 'THE CITY OF WOOD RIVER, NEBRASKA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The cost of removal and demolition of the building located upon Lots 5& 6, Block 12, Brett and Johnson's Addition to the City of Wood River, Hall County, Nebraska and the costs of disposal of the debris, including landfill costs, labor, materials, machinery, including fine grading the property, is hereby levied as a Special Assessment against said land in the sum of $2,556.11. Section 2. Said Special Assessment shall become due and payable immediately upon passage of this Ordinance as provided by law. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a Notice of this 5pecial Assessment with the Hall County Register of Deeds for indexing against the real estate described herein upon its passage.
