<br />I, Loey Buchanan, of Grand Island, Nebraska, R.F.D. #3, being of sound mind, memory and understand-
<br />ing, considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and being desirous
<br />to settle my wordly affairs, and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall
<br />please the Almighty to call me hence, do :therefore make and publish this my last Will and Testament,
<br />hereby revoking and annulling all Wills by me heretofore made, in manner and form following, that
<br />is to say:
<br />FIRST, and principally, I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God, and my body to the
<br />earth, to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named; and my Will is,
<br />that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid by my Executor hereinafter named as soon
<br />after my deceased as shall be convenient:
<br />SECOND, I give, devise and bequeath to my sister, Ida Shipton, of Miller, Nebraska, the sum
<br />of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars in cash.
<br />THIRD, I give, devise and bequeath to my step— daughter, Viola Vance, Grand Island,Nebraska,
<br />the sum of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars in cash.
<br />FOURTH, I give, devise and bequeath to my wife, Grace Buchanan, one third of all personal
<br />property of which I may die seized, to have and to hold. for her own exclusive use and benefit.
<br />I further give, devise and bequeath to my said wife, the South West Quarter (SA) of 6ection
<br />Three (3),Township Thirteen (13) Range Eight (8) West of the 6th P.M. Merrick County,Nebraska,
<br />to have and to hold during her natural lifetime, but with the express provision that she is not
<br />to sell nor in any way encumber said real estate, and that at her death said real estate is to
<br />descend to my three children, John Buchanan, Loey Buchanan and Ellen Buchanan, share and share
<br />alike.
<br />FIFTH, I give devise and bequeath to my two sons, Loey Buchanan and John Buchanan the South
<br />Half of the South Half (S2 S2) and the North East Quarter of the South West Quarter (NEJSWJ) and
<br />the South East Quarter of the North West Quarter (SE$NWJ) all of Section Thirty Two (32) Township
<br />Thirteen (13) Range Eight (8) West of the 6th P.M. Merrick County, Nebraska, to have and to hold
<br />hundred and twenty four.

<br />during their natural life times, but with the express provision that they are not to sell nor in
<br />any way encumber said real estate. In the event of the death of either of my said sons, I direct
<br />that his share shall descent to his surviving brother.
<br />SIXTH, I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter, Ellen Buchanan the West half of the North
<br />East Quarter (WNW of Section Twenty —seven (27) Township Ihirteen (13) Range Eight (8) West of
<br />the 6th P.M. Merrick County, Nebraska to have and to hold during her natural life time, but with
<br />the express provision that she is not to sell nor in any manner encumber said real estate.
<br />SEVENTH, All the rest and residue of my estate, both real, personal, and mixed, I give, devise
<br />and bequeath to my three children, Loey Buchanan, John Buchanan and Ellen Buchanan, share and
<br />share alike for their own use and benefit.
<br />AND LASTLY, I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint David E.Magnuson of Chapman, Nebraska
<br />Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I desire that my Executor hereinbefore named shall
<br />not be required to give bond for the faithful performance of the duties of that office.
<br />IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have set my hand and seal to this, my last Will and Testament, at
<br />Chapman, Nebraska, this ninth (9th) day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine
<br />hundred and twenty four.
