<br />executors have qualified and provided for the management of the store.
<br />They shall receive a reasonable compensation for their services during that time, Should an
<br />opportunity to make a favorable sale of the store present itself at my death, my executors are
<br />authorized to make a sale of the store, dividing the proceeds in lieu of stock or an interest in
<br />the business under the terms of this will. I leave it to the best judgment and discretion of my
<br />executors.
<br />ITEM 3.
<br />I direct that my executors, as soon as conveniently may be after my death, divide all my household
<br />furniture, books, prints, pictures, rugs , household ornaments, personal effects, keepsakes and all
<br />articles used in connection with my home at No. 717 West Division Street in Grand Island, Nebraska,
<br />excluding cars and motor vehicles, among my four children or their survivors and the descendant or
<br />descendants of any deceased child, by representation, as nearly equal as may be. My children are
<br />equally dear to me and I have disposed of my estate without partiality to any of them so that there
<br />may be no occasion for any friction between them. I have every confidence that all things will
<br />be settled in a friendly and amicable way between them and that this division will be agreed upon
<br />harmoniously by them, but in the absence of agreement, the division shall be made according to the
<br />judgment of the majority of my executors.
<br />ITEM 4.
<br />I recommend that my cars and motor vehicles and the house and lot where I now reside, at No. 717
<br />West Division Street, described as West Half of Lot Three (W.J L.3) and all of Lot Four (4), all
<br />in Block One Hundred and Two (102) in Koenig & Wiebe's Addition to the City of Grand Island, in
<br />Hall County, Nebraska, be sold as soon after my death as may be practical by my executors and that
<br />the net proceeds of sale be divided in the same manner provided for my other personal property.

<br />ITEM 5.
<br />I nominate and appoint my four children, or the survivors of them, should any die before me, as
<br />executors of this will and should any of my surviving children decline to act as executor, the
<br />other surviving children shall act. I authorize and empower my executors to incorporate my said
<br />dry goods business, and to sell my motor vehicles and my said residence property at public or
<br />private sale for such terris and on such conditions as to them shall seem best, without obtaining
<br />any license or order from any court or judge, and to execute, acknowledge and deliver bills of sale,
<br />deed or deeds of conveyance to the purchasers or purchaser and provide that the purchaser or pur-
<br />chasers may pay the purchase money or consideration to my executors and shall not be required to
<br />see to the application of the purchase money. Ire the event of sale, the proceeds shall be disposed
<br />of as other personal property under the terms of this will. I do not absolutely enjoin on my execu-
<br />tors the sale of my residence property, but I strongly recommend it. I authorize my executors to
<br />keep my estate open for three years after my death, if they deem it advisable and if at the expiration
<br />of three years they consider it inexpedient to swill my residence property, the same shall go to and
<br />be divided, share and share alike among my four children and if any of my children die before me,
<br />the the descendant or descendants of any deceased child shall take the parent's share, by represen-
<br />tation. I further provide that at any executors' sale, either public or private, any executor may
<br />buy and bid at such sale and shall not be disqualified from buying or taking title to any real or
<br />personal property because of his or her being an executor hereunder.
<br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand to this, my last will and testament in duplicate and
<br />have subscribed my name on the margin of the first three pages hereof at Grand Island,Nebraska,
