EON <br />My home, lot four and the westerly half of lot three in Block thirty -seven (37) in Original Town, <br />now City of Grand Island,Hall County, Nebraska, I devise to my wife for the period of .her natural <br />life. At her decease it shall go as I hereinafter direct. I also give her all moneys,notes, mort- <br />gages, trust certificates and other chores in action belonging to me, absolutely, save and except- <br />ing my corporation shares and the promissory note for two thousand dollars signed by my son Carl, <br />which note I give him; and the promissory note for fourteen hundred dollars signed by my son William <br />which note I give him. In addition I devise unto her lots five and six in said block for the term <br />of her natural life. I further give her all dividends arising out of my shares of bank stock, <br />which shares shall be held in trust by her until she shall have died, when the shares shall be <br />divided among my seven children share and share alike:. <br />All of which shall be in lieu of my wife's rights in my estate. <br />To my beloved son Rudolph I give the sum of Seventy -five dollars per month, beginning with the date <br />of my death, payable monthly in advance for five years, out of my personal property or from the <br />income out of my real estate. <br />To my beloved son Louis I give my shares of stock in the Scheffel and Sons Monument Company. To my <br />beloved daughter Mrs. Katie Mayer I devise the southerly twenty -six (26) feet of lot five (5) in <br />Block Seventy seven (77) in the Original Town, now City of Grand Island,Hall County, Nebraska, and <br />to her heirs forever. To my beloveZLdaughter Flora I give the northerly twenty -six (26) feet of <br />the southerly fifty -two (52) of said lot five (5) and to her heirs forever. <br />To my beloved daughter Mrs. Tillie Langenheder I give the northerly twenty -six (26) feet of the <br />southerly seventy -eight (78) feet of said lot Five (5) and to her heirs forever. <br />To my said daughters I give the northerly fifty -four (54) feet of said lot, share and share alike <br />and to their heirs. <br />The rest and remainder of my estate I give to my son Carl and to Arthur C.Mayer, who shall sell or <br />dispose of the same, after my wife's decease at such prices as to them may seem best, without having <br />first obtained leave or license from any Court or Judge and after the payment of all expenses the <br />net proceeds shall be divided into seven like shares and be paid my children Katie, Flora, Tillie, <br />Carl, William, Rudolph and Louis and their heirs, qty just debts, funeral charges and expense of <br />probating this will and my estate shall be paid out of my personal property. <br />Done at Grand Island this 25th day of September, 1929• <br />William Scheffel <br />The foregoing was at its date signed and published as the last will of William Scheffel in our <br />presence and we in his presence and in the presence of each other and at his special request have <br />signed our names as witnesses hereto. Arthur C.Mayer <br />Coila Heyden <br />CODICIL. <br />I make this codicil a part of my will and - ratify my will executed the 25th day of September 1929 with <br />the one exception, that is to say, I give my son Rudolph seventy -five dollars a month payable <br />monthly in advance, beginning as of this date and continuing five years. I propose to give him <br />a good education and think it will require five years in which to do it; and the time which may <br />elapse from this date until my death shall be counted in figuring the sixty - months involved in this <br />legacy and if I should live five years then this legacy shall be void and is revoked.
