<br />CODICIL TO LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF
<br />HANNAH L. DE SOE.
<br />This is a Codicil to my Last Will and Testament bearing date June 20, 1926.
<br />First:
<br />My niece, Mary Crider, of Miltonville, Kansas, to whom I bequeathed $50.00 under sub - division
<br />(c) of Paragraph 11 having departed this life, I direct that the bequest therein made to her
<br />be paid on my death, to her daughter, Eugenia Ahrends of Miltonville, Kansas.
<br />Second
<br />My sister -in -law, Christina. Cole, of Monroe, Ohio, having departed this life since the execution
<br />of my will, I direct that such bequest of Two Hundred. (?200.00) Dollars made to her in sub -div�-
<br />sion (j) of Paragraph 11 of my said will, be pa.id-to the issue of my said sister -in -law, Chris-
<br />a!
<br />t ina Cole, living at the time of my death.
<br />Third
<br />The provision in sub - division (p) of the above mentioned Paragraph 11 in my will above mention
<br />wherein there is given to the Trustees of the Baptist Church of Cairo, Nebraska, the sum of
<br />Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars, is intended for the Trustees of the First Baptist Church of.'
<br />Cairo, being the Baptist Church in existence at Cairo, Nebraska, at the time of the execution
<br />of my said will.
<br />Fourth
<br />-
<br />I direct that Paragraph 111 of my will above mentioned, be changed to read as follows:
<br />"I give and devise unto my step -son, Jar, es A. DeSoe and his adopted son, George R. DeSoe, thel
<br />following described real estate, to -wit: The Westerly 2/3 of the Southwest Quarter (SWj) of
<br />Section Twenty -eight (29) in Township Twelve (12), North, Range Eleven (11), West of the 6th
<br />P.M., in Hall County, Nebraska, to be held by them as tenants in common and by fee simple titl
<br />absolutely provided the said George R.DeSoe survives the age of twenty -one years of age or
<br />should die before arriving at the age of twenty -one years, but leaving a, wife surviving him.
<br />In the event that the said George R.DeSoe dies before arriving at the age of twenty -one years,j
<br />without leaving a wife or issue surviving him, then I give and devise the undivided one -half j
<br />interest of the said real estate intended for him to the three daughters of the said James A.
<br />DeSoe, namely: Alice DeSoe, Lorene DeSoe, and Alma DeSoe, or the survivor or survivors thereo"
<br />at the time of my death, each to take an undivided one -third of said undivided one -half.

<br />In the event the said George R. DeSoe dies before arriving at the age of twenty -one years,
<br />leaving a wife surviving him but no issue, I direct that one -half of the above undivided one-
<br />half interest in said real estate devised to him, shall pass at my death, to his widow left
<br />surviving, and the other one -half intended for him, the said George R. DeSoe, shall pass and
<br />descend to the three daughters of the said James A.DeSoe in the same manner as is provided in
<br />the event of the death of Geor <re R. DeSoe without leaving a wife or issue surviving him.
<br />In the event of the death of my step -son, James A. DeSoe, prior to my deceased, I direct that
<br />the one -half of said real estate intended for him and herein devised to him, shall pass and
<br />i descend on my death, to his three daaghters, Alice, Lorene and Alma above mentioned or the
<br />survivor or survivors thereof at the time of my death, each to take an undivided one -third of
<br />'i said undivided one- 11=,lf."

<br />Fifth.
<br />I direct that Paragraph V of my original will and of which this is a codicil, be changed to
<br />read as follows:
<br />"In the event of the death of any of the-legatees by me named in Paragraph 11 prior to my
<br />death, leaving issue surviving, I direct that said bequests not lapse but that the provision
