<br />CODICIL TO WILL OF JAMES LEE DATED SEPT.10,1920
<br />I,James Lee,of Newton,Jasper County,Iowa,do hereby declare the present writing to be a codicil
<br />to my last will and testament bearing date on or about the 10th,day of September,A. D.1920.
<br />WHEREAS,by my said will I gave and bequeathed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) to the
<br />Forgein Missionaries Society of Cinnatti3Ohio;Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) to the National
<br />Benevolent Association of St.Louis,Missouri,subject to the provision of an annuity in behalf
<br />of Mrs. Belle Clarkson;
<br />Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) to the Board of Church Extention of Kansas City,Missouri;
<br />Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) to the American Christian Missionaries Scoeity,of Cin} atti,
<br />Ohio,and
<br />WHEREAS,it may be possible that after my death the executors of my will may not be able to imm.
<br />ediately convert my property into cash in order to pay said lagaeies witht-n one (1) year from
<br />my death,
<br />THEREFORE,I now declare and state that said legacies abew�amed may be paid by said executors as
<br />soon as they are able to raise suffieent funds for that purpose by sale of sufficient portioir:
<br />of eltate to do so,but they are not to be obliged to sacrifice the property for that purpose
<br />and if An their judgment,it shall not be deemed advisable to make a sale of that property in
<br />order to pay said legacies the time for the payment of the legacies shall be extended to five
<br />(5) years (om the date of my death.
<br />The interest on the legacy of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) given to the Forgein Missionaries
<br />Society shall be payable by them from the date to which I have paid it before my death;
<br />The interest on the legacy of Five Thousabd Dollars ($5000.00) to the National Benevolent Assoeis.
<br />tion at sixper cent (6 %) shall be payable from the date of my death;
<br />The interest on the legacies of Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) each to the American Christian
<br />Missionaries Society and the Board of Church Extention shall be payable at the rate of six per
<br />cent (6 %) annually from one (1) year, after the date of my death.
<br />And I do hereby ratify and confirm my said will in all other Respects, republishing it and de.
<br />claring it to be in all other respects my last will and testament.
<br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF,I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of February,1922,at the
