<br />I, GEORGE J. 14AGEE, of Watkins, Schuyler County, New York, do hereby make, publish and
<br />declare this my last Will and Testament as follows: I bequeath and devise in trust unto Abram
<br />S. Stothoff, John I'lagee, Daniel Beach and John Lang of Watkins, N. Y. all the property real and
<br />personal of which I shall die possessed and seized, including; the principal and income of all
<br />the property which by the terns of my Father's Will I have
<br />upon and for the following trusts and purposes:
<br />First.- To pay my debts
<br />Second.- To convey my homestead property and lands in
<br />for and during her natural life, provided she shall receive
<br />provisions for her in this Will in lieu of her dower in my
<br />the right to dispose of by my Will

<br />the town of Reading, N. Y., to my wife`
<br />and accept said conveyance and the
<br />estate.
<br />Third, To convey and deliver to my -rife all my household goods and furniture, including all
<br />i
<br />books, plate, pictures and ornar«ents and all articles of every name and nature, in, and used in
<br />i
<br />furnishing my house with the exceptions hereinafter stated as to silver and picture; also all my
<br />horses, harnesses, carriages, sleighs, stable furniture and clothing, and all fixtures, imple-
<br />ments, tools and animals upon my homestead preY:_ises, to be absolutely her own. And I expressly
<br />direct that no appraisal or inventory shall be made by ray executors, or appraisers under or in
<br />i
<br />pursuance of any law or statute, of the property bequeathed to my wife in this section (third)
<br />i
<br />of my mill, but the same shall be delivered in gross to her without any interference with any
<br />I
<br />thereof by any person or persons whomsoever, and I specifically bequeath the same to my wife, to
<br />be conveyed and delivered to her by said Trustees, except that as to all family silver, that came;
<br />to nie from rely father, mother or my brothers Duncan and John, it shall go to my sons John and

<br />George absolutely, equally share and share alike, and except that the portrait of my father now
<br />now in my hall and painted by Elliott, shall be held by the oldest lineal male descendant of my
<br />father of the name of 111agee- first by my son John, and then by my son Geor�ge, in the hope that
<br />they will provide for its transmission in like manner to such descendants successively so long
<br />as it can be legally so held.
<br />Fourth. - After payment of my debts said trustees shall provide a fund for the benefit of
<br />the poor of the villages of Watkins and Corning by setting aside and investing from time to time,
<br />upon interest, in state and national bonus or in good bonds and mortgages upon real estate only,
<br />such income derived frorl, my shares in my father's estate and from that source only as can be
<br />spared, and whenever it can in the judgment of said trustees be spared for that purpose without 1

<br />depriving my children or descendants of proper support and maintenance in such sunns as shall
<br />i
<br />aggregate within ten years from and after my decease the maximum sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars,
<br />the interest of wrlich shall be used by said trustees for the relief of such poor persons in the
<br />villages of Watkins and Corning, as they shall deer:. worthy and needy. If for any cause said fund
<br />shall not be completed up to fifteen thousand dollars before the distribution of the principal
<br />of my estate, the portion which shall have been so set apart shall be the principal sum for the
<br />i
<br />purposes of this section, and when such trustees and their successors shall go out of office, the'
<br />e
<br />following church organizations of Watkins and Corning, Viz: The Itresbyterian, ethodist, Baptist,'
<br />Episcopal and Roman Catholic Churches and societies shall jointly hold and manage said fund for
<br />the pur_)ose herein stated in trust in the following manner to -tyit : A board of trustees for that j
<br />purpose shall, be constituted and maintained, consisting of the chief officer: of, or some person
<br />designated from time to time by each of said Societies or Churches, whose duty it shall be to

<br />carry out the purposes of this section of my Will. 1henever said fund cannot for any cause
<br />longer be legally held or administered for said purposes., it shall be divided ar.�.ong my next of
